00R Still Doesn't Get The 2011 Honda CR-Z, What Are Its Redeeming Qualities?
Usually, every car has a purpose or a plus side.

I like to think of it this way; every woman is beautiful in some way.

Problem is once a while there is a car that doesn't make sense. It's a rarity but it happens. The Honda CR-Z is one of those cars.

Oh-kay, I get that it is suppose to be a sporty hybrid. And I actually believe if anyone was going to do it, Honda could. But as Consumer Reports points out, you would expect it to obtain a better MPG. Not to mention it isn't very quick. Oh yeah, and on top of that double whammy you've got the fact it's only a two seater.

So, what am I missing here? What are the CR-Z's redeeming qualities besides that it has a manual and is a hybrid. By the way, that has been done before, in the original Insight...

Since the CR-Z is not yet for sale, we have not tested its fuel economy using our stringent protocol. However, we have borrowed an example and lived with it for several days. An auto engineer tracked its observed fuel economy on his commute and recorded 36 mpg. He did the same with other new, small cars recording 36 mpg in the Mazda2 and 38 mpg in the Ford Fiesta, two non-hybrid cars that carry more passengers. Those cars also cost much less and their better steering makes them more entertaining to drive than the CR-Z....

The only redeeming quality is that it's a cool looking little compact. I guess it's also easy to park, but not much else. This car is a shame and I'm glad they did not call it the CRX because that would have ruined the name of the legendary car from Honda.

This is truly the weakest product I've yet seen from Honda. They would have been much better off bring back the old CRX fabrications and re-federalizing it with airbags.

Agreed. this car sucks. Keep your fingers crossed for a Toyota MR2 hybrid. That would be a 2 seater worth seeing.

It is a pleasant and unoffensive styling exercise. Maybe it's reliable and durable? Honda has misplaced it's soul.

The redeeming qualities are the ignorant brownie points the environmentalists will give you. I am not a fan.
