Most people don't think about how much they'll spend buying coverage when they're picking out a vehicle. But they should--on average, insurance accounts for roughly 11% of total ownership costs over a five-year period. And depending on the model you choose to drive, you could end up paying a lot more....

Not according to my insurance company. My Carrera costs no more to insure then my wife's Cooper S. I guess it's because we Porsche drivers have such superior driving skills, and we don't have accidents (OK, just kidding, but the cost of the Carrera is really not high)

That's a terrible article...tell us something we don't know.

Ah well, at least in Canada we don't take credit history into account for insurance rates.
