Hey look! Another lame small hatchback from Honda that offers no excitement or enticement whatsoever. Although it can easily be hidden behind the horrifyingly ugly CrossTour. Way to go Honda! Keep losing those sales and driving boring models our way.

Say what you want, but Honda will be ready to deliver this same powerplant in the Fit as soon as gas prices spike. What do the US companies have waiting in the wings? More hybrid SUV's?

Spot on thstone - Honda (and other car mfr that makes frugal cars) have the Japanese and European markets that like and support a large volume of such economical cars. The N American mkt merely provides "gravy-on-top" opportunities when periodic fuel price increase occurs. Compare that to US car mfrs (with the possible exception of Ford Europe) that is exposed to gas price hike cycles on their home market (while can't penetrate European and Japanese car mkts). Bottom line is that the markets now have more options on even more economical cars, and that has to be positive for consumers.
