Mercedes GL heading for dealers

A month into commercial production on its all-new GL-Class sport-utility vehicle, Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Inc. has begun shipping them to dealers around the country, laying the groundwork for an official May 1 retail debut.

In tandem with the vehicle's market launch, the Tuscaloosa County plant played host to about 400 dealers and Mercedes officials from around the country last week, providing them a detailed look at the automaker's latest effort.
