Americans are unclear about what Nissan has to offer, so ads will shift
Nissan is rolling out a new national ad campaign in the US that will focus the attention on Nissan as a brand instead of on individual models.

Nissan’s sales are increasing and its market share is widening, making business largely profitable. And when it comes to year-over-year sales growth, Nissan outpaces rivals Toyota, Honda and Hyundai. However, Nissan aims to be perceived as a source of industry innovation;

Nissan as a MFR should've taken Toyota route: Separate Infiniti from Nissan.

Isn't that what they did?

I don't understand your comment, do you mean they shouldn't have separated them?

Separate into 2 (almost) independent companies, with revised product positioning rather than simply rebadging Nissan as Infiniti. For christ's sake, the latter's has been suffering from weird Japanese styling(such as M & QX), and not so premium outfitting due to part of Nissan family.

@din

I think you should visit both Nissan & Inifinit's sites to see just how the two styles diverge. Especially look at the Armada & new QX. They are now totally different. I would say the two brands are clearly different.

But I'm sure Nissan's small cars have been confused with offerings from Honda, Hyundai, & Kia.

As far as the Nissan trucks and the Exterra, I like them, Although nothing stands out, the Frontier is out done by the H-3T Alpha by a long shot, the Titan is out done by the regular F-150 and the Raptor blows it away, and the Exterra is again out done by the H-3 and the Jeep Rubicon or all the other models, Japan just doesn't get it any more, the FJ and the Nissan Patrol used to be a force to be reckoned with, not anymore, as far as the cars, I'd take a Hyundai or a Ford with the direct injection motor, although I like Nissan more than Toyota, there cars are getting better, just not as good as the rest.

You actually wrote that a Hummer H3 is better than something...what is wrong with you

33-35 inch tires stock, two selectable locking diffs and more suspension flex than all of the competition, although the Rubicon is a little better other than the small tires that they come with. I am talking off road here, not how well it drives down the road in comfort.

I love the Nissan 370Z, of course the GT-R, and the Infinity G37 coupe to name a few.

"Americans are unclear about what Nissan has to offer" - Fugly is what they have to offer. That's their problem.

@ Patronus: I reboosted you for that. I agree 100%. Americans know exactly what they have on offer and have by and large rejected the Nissan reality, and rightly substituted it for their own.

Uaw_lax. It's because of the product introduced to the USA. They need something special.
