WOMPWOMP: BBC FIRES Ben Collins, There's A New Stig In Town
After ongoing legal battles between the BBC and Collins Auto-sport, the BBC has -- as they may say -- "sacked" Ben Collins.

Unfortunately, the organization feels that keeping The Stig's identity unknown adds a bit of "harmless" fun to Top Gear. I guess you can tell that to Collins, granted, after seeing what happened to Perry McCarthy, he knew what he was getting into.

What say you, Spies? Should Collins have kept his mouth shut or was it time for him to disclose the secret?

Ben Collins has been dumped by the BBC after being unmasked as Top Gear’s The Stig – and he has already been replaced.

Our exclusive pictures (below) show the new Stig – the show’s “tame racing driver” – in trademark white jumpsuit and crash helmet at a Top Gear Live event at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany on Friday...

Moral of the story: Breaching contracts will get you strollers not supercars.

Kinda sucks if this is true... I really liked this Stig. I know him as the Stig, and even with that Michael Schumacher stunt, for the moment I actually believed the trick, I just remembered the helmet lying on the side to be the Stig's head.

Hopefully this means that Top Gear will last for another while. :D

I have never been interested in finding out who the Stig is. It's part of the character of the show. Some people just can't stand a good thing. It's like trying to find out how a magician pulls off his tricks. Just sit and enjoy. Finding out the mystery ruins the fun. I hope the new Stig legally changes his name to The Stig and has that helmet surgically grafted to his face. That way the morons who keep prying will have nothing to find out.

The Stig is not a man. The Stig is a force of nature.

If you were to truly remove the Stig's helmet, all that would happen is that the suit would fall to the ground absolutely empty, for we can not comprehend the concept of the Stig.

It was (a lot) fun while it lasted.

But at this point, its hard to play along. The BBC can replace him at a moments notice with someone else or even have 3 or 4 Stig's running around for different shows and events.

We've seen behind the curtain and there's no going back now.
