Lexus Left Standing Still As The Rest Of The Luxury Market Picks Up Steam
Bayerische Motoren Werke AG’s namesake brand increased U.S. sales 1.6 percent in August and beat Toyota Motor Corp.’s Lexus nameplate as the top U.S. luxury brand for the third straight month.

BMW sales rose to 19,540 as deliveries of its 1 Series gained 53 percent and the 7 Series climbed 42 percent, the Munich-based company said yesterday in a statement. Lexus deliveries decreased 15 percent to 19,465, the brand’s Toyota City, Japan-based parent company said in a statement.

I don't know if I would call roughly 80 cars a big deal. I do agree that BMW has been gaining market share which is due to some great cars (new 5 and 7 series). I think Lexus needs to pick it up a little bit and come out with a new GS to really try and compete against the E class and 5 Series. I wouldn't say Lexus is losing just yet but they are definitely feeling the pressure from BMW

"Lexus remains the U.S. luxury sales leader for the year, with 145,490 deliveries through August, an 11 percent increase. Mercedes sales have gained 18 percent to 139,867, and BMW’s U.S. sales increased 7.8 percent to 139,236 vehicles"

We know that all Mercedes Cars are more expensive...this numbers means that MB is very strong in economic terms and still improving.

Didn't you do this thread yesterday?
Didn't you sound these alarms last year? the year before? and the year before that?
And yet despite all this, Lexus is still ahead YTD. Like they ended last year. And the year before that.

The real reason why 009 creates flame bait, is by challenging or calling out Lexus, he knows that the Lexus PR team will shower him with Lexus shwag and offer him media cars, personal tours and free coupons for the Carl's Jr Philly Cheesesteak Burger.

It's great to have the Philly CheeSteak back...........

So......Forget about the company that makes cars that can't stop- BMW has a lot more to worry about than Lexus right now.

The new 5er just came out and yet it sold LESS than at this time last year. Not a good start for a brand new car. The new F10 Bimmer is too Lux and not enough Sport, er........it seems like BMW is becoming dare I say it- almost Lexus like.

Porsche would even sell more cars if they brought them over here. They are artificially keeping the inventory extremely low. I don't know how they improved their numbers with a near non-existence inventory.
