2010 Ford C MAX Pricing Announced

2010 Ford C MAX Pricing Announced
Ford’s all-new C-MAX will go on sale in the UK in October, priced from £16,745.

Both the sporty but spacious five-seater and the Grand, a versatile seven-seater, come with a simplified two-series line-up – Zetec and Titanium. Prices start from £16,745 for the C-MAX Zetec and £18,745 for the C-MAX Grand Zetec.

With almost two-thirds of UK buyers in this segment now seeking seven-seat flexibility, the Ford Grand C-MAX becomes the spiritual successor to today’s model, which was also designed to maximise practicality. Priced from £18,745 for the 1.6-litre petrol 125PS Zetec, the Grand offers family-friendly flexibility, with the extra utility of twin sliding doors, versatile seating and improved engine efficiency – and all for just a £250 premium over today’s model.

The Grand Zetec with 115PS 1.6-litre TDCi, the anticipated volume seller in the UK, is priced at £19,745 – £750 less than the outgoing equivalent.

Something Ford needs to bring to the U.S. And bring it as a Ford without sliding doors like the Mazda 5. Just move the wheel to the other side and ship it.

I personally have an affinity for practical cars so I really like hatchback design (Citroens) and mini-minivan such as the Grand C-max, Mazda 5 (and yes, even the Kia Rondo which I hate). I personally think this is wonderful (for the Grand C-max as well as for Ford NA acknowledging Ford Europe cars are really good, good enough to bring to NA market relatively unchanged) BUT I just don't think we Americans care for these mini minivans. Our butts are just too big and we like power from large displacement hauling large cars on large freeways while slurping from large cup of soda. Hate to say this but I don't think the 7-seater Grand C-max is going to be a commercial success here in the US. I hope I will proven to be wrong though.

Hey Ford... bring us the C-Max for smaller folks, and the S-Max for large-butted Yanks.
