Future uncertain for the Mitsubishi Galant, Endeavor and Eclipse models
It appears that Mitsubishi is planning major updates and it will concentrate on developing small cars that can be sold worldwide. But this is bad news as the future is uncertain for some models which Mitsubishi currently builds in the United States, such as the Galant, Endeavor and Eclipse and Eclipse Spyder.

Mitsubishi is planning to introduce a small car in the United States by 2012, but until this, the manufacturer plans no model changes or additions other than what has been announced

I like Mitsubishi Eclipse but the current model is under power and it seem like they don't know who their target is.

mitsubishi needs to focus on who their audience is which is probably a lot of "fast and the Furious" teenagers or in their early twenties....but anyway they also need to focus on a good looking front facia design for all their cars.

Good luck to them. The first new car I ever bought was a 89 Mirage. Lasted forever.

Mitsubishi should work hard. Once the new sporty models of Toyota arrive, market will get even tougher for them. A new segment leading Galant is required and benchmark it against new Sonata and also bring new Outlander.

lol, consider this. At the $22k base price estimated so far on the FT-86, many of Toyota's existing models in that price range already overpower it.

I'm a little sad. The DiamondStar twins were always one of my favorite budget sports cars back in the day. I still miss my Talon.

The Galant hasn't been any good since the VR-4 model stopped visiting American shores.

Mitsubishi has the knowledge and experience to make the Eclipse a beast in the segment it want it to be in. They did a really good job with the Mitsubishi Evo why NOT the other models?

Eclipse with EVO performance = a sure win in the north American market

I'll be surprised if they stay in the US market for another 5 years. They destroyed the Eclipse when they brought it back and have offered no updates or power enhancements (i.e. turbo, AWD) like it's old generations. They killed the 3000GT, tried to come out with a Chevy Colorado type of truck (Raider). I still have never seen one on the road. The Galant has been odd and missed segment points left and right. I see nothing appealing coming from them. Stop the last ditch efforts and pull out.

They based their ENTIRE US market on the Lancer and Evo. Loss.

The first car I ever bought was a 1997 Eclipse AWD Turbo. IT was awesome. Great interior and exterior. It had that huge spoiler. Then they updated it with this same exterior they have now. It has never really caught on since the 2nd generation update. I would like to see the car revamped to take on the Mustang and Camaro

The galant must be one of the most boring blandest cars out there

The future of the Normal IL plant should involve closure and subsequent flames. Lots of flames. That plant and its products served to totally destroy the little bit of dignity that Mitsubishi enjoyed at least up until the late 1990s. They lost their way and it seems to be more of the same from what I can see and tell. They need to go back to their roots and do what Subaru has done. Their 2.0 turbo needs to be in every car they build. Get rid of the Galant and everything based on it. There was talk a few years ago that Mitsu would be selling a version of a Peugeot sedan in the US as the Galant. They should revist that plan and use the gorgeous upcoming 508 which is just the right size for duty as a mid sized US model.

Mitsu Galant lives up to its name..Solid and clean lines..Moves very smoothly on road..Comfortable and built for serving the purpose of a family sedan. This car is definitely on your list of options if you are aiming for a midsized family SUV..It's base price is $28,000 and is definitely a bang for your buck! Watch out for this SUV!
