0-100 MPH In Under 6 Seconds! - Ariel Unleashes Limited Edition 500HP V8 Powered Atom

Ariel is gunning for Bugatti's Veyron hypercar with its long-awaited 500bhp V8-engined version of its minimalist Atom 3.

The new machine, unveiled this week after a two-year-long development process, has a power-to-weight ratio of 909bhp per tonne - more than 50 per cent better than that of Bugatti's creation, and even slightly ahead of a GP2 single-seater racing car.

The Atom V8 goes on sale early next year, priced at £150,000. Only 25 will be made.

Performance wise it will beat the Veyron. Practicality is a different story. What do you do with the Ariel if a sudden downpour happens? Drive it and get soaked? Veyron doesn't have that problem. Not to mention that the Ariel will not be sold in the U.S.A. Being an American sucks sometimes.

Good points Debbie Downer. Veyron > Ariel because of a roof in case it rains. If anyone here is going to buy one of these 25 Ariels, Just get the veyron because you can drive it in the rain and i hear it gets better gas mileage. bwhahaha

There's other reasons as well. Things like a stereo, heat, A/C. That Ariel should be a blast to drive in the winter.
