2012 Hennessey VelociRaptor APV takes the armored vehicles a step further
If you don’t like the 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor which was unveiled a week ago and need to feel safer in an armored vehicle, Hennessey has the solution and introduced today the Hennessey Armored Performance Vehicles (APV).

This new programme will apply the company’s philosophy and will improve the acceleration, braking and handling performance on late-model armored vehicles. What you see in the photos is the 2012 Hennessey VelociRaptor APV based on the new Ford Raptor SuperCrew. This car offers a combination of armor protection, vehicle performance, passenger comfort and safety.

I don't get it. The article implies that there is some kind of weitght advantage to start with an F-150 SVT Raptor SuperCrew rather than a Suburban or similar SUV. But the Raptor SC tips the scales at 6,200 lbs to start. Add the rear roof, interior, and armor and where are the weight savings?

It's an armoured car correct? I believe the savings are found in needing less heavy steel plating around the box.

And here I thought VelociRaptor was a hard drive.
