In the new Motor Trend they were able to do some instrument testing and get some performance numbers. Mind you this was on a empty runway (good traction) in 32'F temps. 0-60 in 3.2 secs and the 1/4 in 11.4 @ 120.5 mph. Very impressive! This was also with the Sport Chrono package engaged which raises torque.

Well stinky why stick in a heavy V8 when you can use advanced Turbo technology on a V6 to create monster power and better mpg?!? The 6 cylinder is a Porsche staple as well as the inline 6 and they will develope the hell out of it before going with a different block. It was major auto news when Porsche went from Air cooled to water cooled back in the day.

The funny thing with Porsche is that the low end model the Boxster has made more influence on the design of the Porsche line up. 911 now has Boxster type side scoops, but atleast ditched the Boxster type head lamps of the previous model. And the Cayman uses allot of Boxster queues. Interesting...give the designers of the Boxster a bigger bonus!

First the GT will be faster at any speed above 60mph. It has a much better power to weight ratio and this will really show if you take them both to a road course and take lap times. Also I've seen four GT's on the street and they are simply stunning. And the engine sounds incredible! I do understand what your saying though and I feel Porsche should have given the GT 650 hp instead of 605 just to allow a wider margin between it and the 997TT.

I saw a new GT3 the other day. Couldn't stop looking. The 911 Turbo rims look kind of lame, but fortunately that's something that can easily be fixed.
