What Is The ULTIMATE Getaway Vehicle?

What Is The ULTIMATE Getaway Vehicle?
Oh-kay, so, you're planning a caper of sorts that's going to blow everyone's door off. But as with all plots there is one key element that has to be just right for everything to run smoothly.

That is, of course, the getaway vehicle.

I mean, you saw what happened to those guys in Reservoir Dogs, right?

Taking the necessary requirements into consideration -- strong, fast, agile and reliable -- what car would you take if you needed to getaway from a bad scene QUICK?

Tell us what your favorite and what situation would warrant your choice.

If you're going to be a spy you're going to have to THINK like one!

Hmmmmmmm... my first thought was the knight xv... then I remembered... ooh right it would probably be nice to be conspicuous... and then it should probably be front engined in case you are getting shot at while driving away... and then someplace to store a lot of whatever it is we are taking... hmmm I'd probably use a chipped bulletproof F250...

A Camry body in the most popular color...
Then the car itself is some sort of fast but quiet marvel.

KITT :D He can become a regular Mustang!

You want something roomy, fast, good-handling and reasonably reliable to get you, your gang and your loot away from the scene of the crime in a hurry.

If money is no object, I'd recommend the Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed.

If you want something a little cheaper, try the Audi A8L with the W12 engine, the BMW 760Li, the Jaguar XJL Supersport, the Mercedes-Benz S600 or S65 AMG, or the Porsche Panamera Turbo.

If you want something a little less conspicuous and/or you need to go off-road, opt for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Fast is good, but you guys must be kidding with these expensive and exotic luxury cars. You're doing a crime, you need something that can blend in, and something that's not too fragile or complicated, because you don't know what you'll need to run over to make the getaway, also, if you have $90k vehicles to abuse, then why are you stealing?

That said, I would have to go with a Dodge Charger SRT8, either all black, or painted to look like a police car. A Pontiac G8 GT or GXP in all black would also be ideal. The Lexus GS460 is also fast and nearly invisible.

Something fast and able to handle well but yet have room for the team and the goods......Audi S8 comes to mind. DeNiro used it in Ronin!

You dont need a fast handling car to getaway. just the best selling car in America so when you merge into traffic, the cops cant identify you anymore.

Depends on where the robbery is! In a city - a (European) Ford Focus! Would blend right in! Just get a bit away from the bank and abandon it.

Long-range chase - Audi RS6, wouldn't stand out too much and blisteringly fast, plus you've got a shooting platform if you lie down in the boot.

A very good choice indeed, provided that your caper team either
1) consists of no more than 4 people, none of whom are over 6 feet tall, or
2) consists of two tall people.

G4 or G5 would be the ultimate getaway vehicle.

On the ground, Ducati MotoGP bike or Mitsu Evo with an additional 100 bhp and a bigger fuel cell so you can travel more than 18 minutes at full clip.

Suzuki gsxr600 then have a Uhaul/tractor trailer to pull into.

Or if the situation is different, I would use a X6M with all season tires.
