2011 Hyundai Sonata production increased by 80 percent from July to August
After shifting production of Hyundai’s Santa Fe crossover to Kia’s plant in Georgia, it raised its monthly output of 2011 Sonata sedan by 80% from July to August. Robert Burns, a Hyundai Motor Manufacturing spokesman, said that Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama produced 24,111 Sonata sedans for sale in the US in August while in July, it built only 13,395 units.

The Automotive News Data Center revealed that Hyundai made 16,994 in the first 28 days of August 2009. To coincide with the boost in the production of Sonatas, sales of the mid-sized sedan also had a significant climb.

Not impressed with your painfully pathetic attempt to besmirch the Hyundai/Kia family name. The recall suggests a willingness to identify potential problems early on, and then make the necessary fix. Good on them. Further, I've known many people, myself included, who have owned Hyundai and Kia vehicles, and continue to be very satisfied customers. Especially now that they have the most exciting affordable new vehicle line-up in the biz. Meanwhile, Toyota and Honda continue to burden their devoted fanbase with sinfully ugly cars. Too bad for you...see you on the road.

That's why I'm talking about. If huu76 want to bring up Hyundai and Kia's recalls, bring up everyone elses from Acuras to Volvoos. Just like he want to talk about the Koreans clicking and pasting, I'll just bring up others clicking and pasting from A to Z.

As usual, no one miss your point. We just respond to your comments with pure facts.

"People say Toyota quality went down hill when they expanded too fast?"

Well, according to Toyota's CEO they acknowledge that they expanded too fast and thus thier quality sufferred. They actually said for verbatim that they understand and realize their main vision was to be the number 1 auto maker which in turn they were not concentrating on quality.

Again, Toyota's recall sound bad not because its high volume. (Ford and GM has always have high volume of recalls). Its just that Toyota's recall are life threatening and has resulted in many deaths and the recall affects most of their vechicles.

"As usual, the less intelligent illiterates on this site completely miss my point."

As opposed to the more "intelligent illiterates" who never miss your point.
Apparently, you did miss the point of the article, though, which is what enabled this discussion. It was about the high demand for the Sonata and the need for Hyundai/Kia to shift production, period. Yet, you chose to burden this discussion with your off-topic gripes with this site. Now you have the sophomoric audacity(hypocrisy) to insult others who are not fooled by your subterfuge. If you expect others to respond directly to the merits of your posts, only, and without prejudice, then perhaps you should confer similar courtesy when commenting on an article such as this. Finally, "intelligent illiterates" is an inapt expression, and that isn't very...well, intelligent.

What Huu76 says "What does it sound like Hyundai/KIA are doing when their sales don't even come close yet their recalls are already following in the footsteps of big brother?"

Not ture, It's true the Soul, Sorento, K7 and Borrego were recalled but it wasn't because of people had problems. It was because Hyundai/Kia found something and did somthing about it and didn't wait to let the chips hit the fan like Toyota. That's why. And it was something about a wiring that could catch on fire. Unlike Toyota who paid people off to keep quiet.
