VIDEO: 0-60 With A Mercedes-Benz SLS & Dodge Viper ACR
In a video titled "Separation Anxiety," at least that's what I think it's called, 0-60 Magazine has done something pretty cool.

They paired up a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and a Dodge Viper ACR. Funny thing is, they are closer relatives than one may think. Additionally, after some testing, it is pretty clear that their stats are nearly identical.

Not to mention they also boast similar shapes. You know, long snout and all.

Probably the only thing that is profoundly different are their prices. But hey, three-pointed stars do not come cheap.

**Take a look at 0-60's video down below, what do you make of this, Spies?

As seen in 0-60 magazine's (http://www.0-60mag.com) Winter, 2010 issue. We bring together Dodge's Viper ACR and Mercedes-Benz's SLS AMG for a burn through the California desert. What if the two companies hadn't split -- would SRT and AMG have combined forces? We'll never know, but it's fun to speculate...

another urban legend victim. can you name one serious source that confirms this viper/sls story? autospies had this story from autoblog, autoblog copied it from inside line and inside line doesn't even feel the need to name a source...says a lot doesn't it?

it strongly reminds me about this guy who thought the UN is about to invade the usa cos he found a kia storage facility on google earth. this sls/viper thing is basically the same (someone saw an sls mule dressed in a viper body and the legend was born), but a lot more people want to believe it.

here are the facts: the sls base chassis was designed to house 4 electric engines without having to modify it for its e-version. electro and viper? sorry man that's an oxymoron. chrysler didn't even have one single e-car in their line up back in these days, do you really think the viper would have been their first choice to start with?

100octane, while the sls was being developed I thought it was pretty clear that they were modifying the chassis so of course they won't be the same anymore. No one anywhere is saying that they are using the same chassis. Also, no one is putting down the sls as a previously developed car, they are simply comparing the two cars as they still have rather similar layouts/specs.

a lot of people say that. i tried to find the thread here but i couldn't find it. so here's another one:

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/16/report-dodge-originally-developed-sls-amg-to-be-next-gen-viper/

i know that they just compared these 2 cars, i wasn't refering to the video, but to your comment, which was a bit misleading. i gotta say sorry.
