What Three Expensive Luxury Cars Impress You LEAST?

What Three Expensive Luxury Cars Impress You LEAST?
It is one thing when a company goes out on a limb and builds an automobile just because they can.

Take, for example, the Lexus LFA or Bugatti Veyron. These are two astonishing feats of engineering and they were built for one reason only; ego. You have to love when a company has its panties in a bunch and decides to go against the grain. The results are staggering.

But with the good comes the bad. You know, the bad apples. The ones that just couldn't really cut it. No, I am not talking Pontiac Aztek bad but we do want to know...

What three luxury models, that are expensive, leave you cold?

The kind of car that makes you scratch your head and say "pft."

The kind of expensive metal that won't even turn your head or have any appeal to you, whatsoever.

"Bugatti veyron(car looks like a pig no type of design ques they are just selling a 16 cylinder pig.)"

- That's the most retarded thing I've read all month. The Veyron outperforms cars that are lighter than it around a racetrack. Look below and you'll see the type of cars that the Veyron competes against. In the Veyron’s case, weight doesn't mean anything. I think you need to learn more about cars dude. Just because you don't like the Veyron doesn't mean that it's a pig. Heavy? Yes, Underperforming pig? No. Get a Clue.

I said it was a ugly pig The design is disgusting if you think the Veyron is a hot LOOKING car your sadly mistaking of course this car will sell because all the worldwide YUPPIES will always want the most expensive whatever no matter what it looks like just as long as it cost a lot of money. so save your automotive education speech for someone else cause i dont give 2 shyts about it I know plenty about cars.

of course you just played yourself the only argument you can come up with is that the Veyron is not a Luxry car. ok but that wasnt your argument in your first post..... so again save this so-called automotive education that you are TRYING to give me for someone who cares. Now this statement should make you sleep better at night being that the Veyron is and Exotic Luxury or a Luxury Exotic car. I hope that makes you feel all warm and toasty inside.....It seems like I am dealing with a child that just started reading MotorTrend and Car & Driver thinks he knows alot but knows everything about cars. again save it and stick to what you know. @B7FAN

The reason why I mentioned the Veyron's performance is because you mentioned the Veyron's weight. You called it a pig. Since when does weight matter for a luxury car? Does lighter weight provide better luxury? Unless you are talking about efficiency, weight doesn’t really mean anything one way or the other in regards to luxury cars. No? And since weight doesn’t mean anything luxury wise, then you would have to be mentioning the veyron’s weight for some reason. And that reason would be performance. So that’s why I pointed out that the veyron’s weight doesn’t hinder its performance against other sport-cars.

And the Veyron isn’t a "Exotic Luxury or a Luxury Exotic car." The Veyron is a "Mid-Engined sports car". "Supercar" to be more precise. The veyron is a pint-sized car. There’s no such thing as a pint-sized luxury car. Calling the veyron a luxury car is just plain dumb. Calling the Veyron a luxury car is about as dumb as calling an SSC Aero a luxury car. You still don’t know what the term "Luxury Car" means. LOL!!

And FWIW I do not read Car and Driver, Motor-trend or any of those types of publications. Call me a child or whatever you want. That still doesn’t take away the fact that you are trying to say (wrongfully) that a Small, Mid-Engined, cramped 2-seat car is a luxury car.

When people refer to something as being a "pig", 99.99% of the time they are talking about weight. But hey… you think that a Veyron is a Luxury car so anything is possible I guess.

What makes the veyron not a luxury car?
1) It’s size
2) It’s interior dimensions
3) The car is mid-engined. Name one single mid-engined Luxury car?
4) The “Spartan” Interior with no Navigation.
5) The loud brash Exhaust note.
6) The performance. Luxury cars don’t out perform Gumpert Apollos. Sports cars do.

You’ve obviously never seen the Veyron in the flesh. I have. The guy that owns "Futuristic Bolting" on RT 17 in NJ owns one. Here’s a pic http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/184638-Buggatti-Veyron-Rt-17-NJ! (note that eveyone who replied in that thread loved it)
I work behind that BLDG. And the car is stunning!

Just because you don’t like the Veyron, don’t expect everyone else to feel the same way you do. Most people love it. You are in the minority. Jeremy Clarkson declared the Veyron "the greatest piece of engineering ever. No, I'm sorry, this is the greatest car ever made and the greatest car we will ever see in our lifetime." Clarkson has driven everything. I’ll take his opinion over anything you say. And I’d rather be an “ASS” with a "little mind" than someone who spews BullSh!t opinions. Get over yourself.

Well, technically speaking the Veyron is a luxury car due to the fact it only has two seats. Any coupe rather it be a Ford or a Benz is considered a luxury car in economics. And for the sake of the "common argument" it is a luxury car, because a freaking Toyota or a Ford isn't build like that with that type of quality.

LexSucksLexSucks - 9/20/2010 2:18:39 PM

So is a Ferrari 458 Italia a Luxury car? Owning such a car would be considered a luxury. That doesn't make the car itself a luxury car.

True within the context of the argument, but like I said in the "common perspective/eyesight," a car of 458 Italia caliber is clearly a luxury car. You can rant and rave thats its not, but you are just being a sour puss. Besides, from another take on it, their is different types of luxury. There is fast luxury and leisure driving luxury.

I always thought that Luxury implied comfort. There are expensive sports cars that are far from comfortable, are those luxury cars too? Just because a car costs a lot of coin doesn't make it a luxury car. Is an Ariel Atom a Luxury car?

Usually speaking when the term "luxury car" is mentioned it refers to a 4 door sedan, not a 2 dr sports car or 2dr GT car.A Veyron may have lots of luxury features in it due to it's cost to make. However it is usually referred to as a mid engined sports GT car.So maybe there should be some clarification when one is referring to "luxury cars" what is meant by that.Is it a 4 dr sedan or CUV,Wagon,SUV,a high end sports or GT car or just "any" car that high end luxury features in it's interior cabin.?
