Fiat to return to its historical 90 percent stake in Ferrari, says Marchionne
After saying the its expects Chrysler IPO later in 2011, Fiat and Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne also said today that the Italian manufacturer will return to its historical 90 percent stake in Ferrari.

Minutes later, Marchionne confused the press by saying that he does not exclude a possible Ferrari initial public offering before 2014. Regarding Fiat’s stake in Ferrari, the Italian manufacturer currently owns a 85 percent of Ferrari. This stake is a result of three actions. Back in 1969, Fiat bought a percent stake in Ferrari and a call option to buy the rest of 50 percent after Enzo Ferrari dies.

I don't really care who owns the Ferrari brand. I just wish they'd go back to making their formerly gorgeous designs. Not that I can afford one, mind you, but today's Ferraris, like the Italia at the top of this page, leave my wondering if folks with lots of money don't realize they're driving an ugly car.

you sir need to get your eyes checked. How is the 458 remotely ugly? Ferraris are just as good looking as ever, the 458, the 599 GTO, and there will definitely be others to come.

The 458 draws it's lineage from the Ferrari 308 which was the offshoot of the Dino 246. After the 360 Modena there has not been an attractive Mid engined V8 Ferrari until the 458. While the 458 is better looking then the F430 or Scuderia it is does not retain the beauty of the Dino or the original mid engined V8 cars. It is a step in the right direction, however. In my opinion the 456GT was the last good looking front engined Ferrari. I do not like the look of the 599 or GTO etc.The Enzo looked like a bug. I'm sure they are aerodynamically very superior but certainly not beautiful like the Ferrari Daytona or the Testarossa.
