Former BMW Dealer Wins $5 Million  Auto X Prize
The Diesel Driver is reporting that the top winner of the Auto X Prize used an internal combustion engine, lightweight materials, and E85 fuel to create a 4-seater that got just over 100 mpg. The winning entry, built by former BMW dealer Oliver Kuttner, now a real estate investor, has invested millions into his Edison2 Very Light Car.

Other winners were two 2-seaters that got the energy equivalent of 187 mpg.

Thats awesome. Now if we could just relax the safety standards that make our vehicles so heavy and fuel inefficient.

No matter how you look at it, its a step up in safety over a motorcycle. Ill never give up motorcycling though.

Yeah... Motorcycles will always have a place in my heart. Too bad I lost my feeling of invincibility since my last couple of stupid accidents.
