PARIS MOTOR SHOW: VW's New Passat CONFIRMED

PARIS MOTOR SHOW: VW's New Passat CONFIRMED
After months of seeing the updated Volkswagen Passat undergoing testing, it has finally been confirmed: the car will bow at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

From the latest VW design philosophy we can expect a much more squared-off, Audi-like interpretation of the Passat. 00R is thinking that the design will step on the Audi A4's toes while channeling some Passat cues of yesteryear.

What do you predict, Spies?

The Paris Motor Show organizers have confirmed the world premiere of the facelifted Volkswagen Passat in both sedan and Estate body styles. Expect the first photos and intel on the revamped Passat to go up just before the grand opening of the show on September 30.

From what we've seen in the spy photos and videos, VW's offering in the mid-size segment will receive significant styling changes to the front and rear ends, including a new hood and grille, plus redesigned bumpers and head lamps / tail lights, for a crisper and more dynamic look...

Have always seen the passat as a girls car. Than again, every VW in the lineup has looks leaning more for the female audience.

Looking forward to it. Women are attracted to cars that are attractive and make sense economically. It's rather smart on VW's part to appeal to women as often times they are a huge part of the buying decision. However I don't really see how GTIs, Phaetons or Touareg have "looks leaning more for the female audience." Beetle definitely, Tiguans and Jettas are doing very well with women. VW is a safe brand and woman also gravitate to safe things.

I'm so excited that VW is building their beige Passat Camry, Accord fighter. This should fit in nicely with those un-inspiring oversized family movers. I really feel like these companies are going backwards and creating their version of the 1990's Buick's and Pontiacs.
