Every once and a while, I am reminded why AutoSpies has the best users. This is one of those times.

An AutoSpies reader recently had the chance to go to an Aston Martin ride and drive event in Vancouver, and snapped these shots at the presentation. Not only did he get some great shots but he spoke to the GM, got some info AND went out of his way to send it to us.

Can you say AWESOME?

Unlike some other publications where users simply gawk at high-priced metal they'll never drive, our users actually are presented with these situations and are shoppers. You have to love that.

So, we salute you Spies. Thank you for your dedication to our brand over the past years.

Got some photos or information, please forward it along! We'd love to hear from you.

Hello Agent001:

Attached are pics I took yesterday, Sept 14, at the V12 Vantage ride and drive, here in Vancouver, BC, Canada...

Looks great, sounds fantastic, but, maybe too pricey?
[base: $179,995, Carbon Black Edition: $194,995] I spoke to the GM late in the day, and he told me they had taken 1 deposit...

Aston Martin Vancouver is right next door at Ferrari Vancouver, so the people coming to the Aston event were then strolling through the Ferraris and Maseratis on offer...

Best,
--name withheld--

Too pricey? Probably not.

A 911 Turbo S Cab is not far off of 179k and does not have as much cachet.

That being said I say it's time for AM to release the One-77 already- it's taking waaaaaay too long.

They waited too long on the Rapide as well and now the Panamera is in many ways beating it at its' own game......

No matter how much it is,no company in the world makes more attractive cars than aston martin. If anyone is ever in CT,stop by the Aston dealer. The whole lot is full of nothing but the most beautiful cars on the planet.

It costs about as much as a regular DB9 uses the same chassis, has the same basic interior, yet is the fastest Aston Martin I'm confused as to why it isnt seen as a relative bargain...to much?? how

if your only worried about performance times and value your probably 1. not really interested in any cars and should try a G37 2. Totally missing the point of an Aston martin. They are GTs first and even though they have made cars that rival a Porsche or Ferrari they were never as performance oriented and still arent its not even their intent completely . For my money I would rather have the V12 vantage the 911 is nice but way to common, not to mention the turbo S is fast but with all scoops and everything else it just looks over done. If you want a fast exclusive GT the V12 vantage is perfect if you want a Ferrari buy a Ferrari not an Aston Martin bottomline , the V12 vantage like the V8 Vantage before it(virage based) is almost certain to be a classic collectors car what.

wait a couple years, pick one up at more than 50% off, low miles.

Great point chemo! Id rather get a Turbo S coupe.

Not as rare (or sounds as good) as a V12V BUT

Depreciates less then the Aston
Much faster (0-60 in 2.9 seconds)
and IMO better looking

Well as someone said it depends on how you place a value on a cars worth. The Turbo S is technically superior but does not offer the driver experience that the Aston Vantage V12 does. Part of the joy of driving is the "direct" feel and sound of the car. The Turbo S is ultra fast but many have written that it is too isolated from the driver. That is why so many prefer the GT3 to the turbo and turbo S. The Aston V12 Vantage is the best handling and best performing car in Aston stable at the moment. It looks fantastic, the engine sounds fantastic, the interior is far nicer then any 911. So if you want somthing that is exclusive with more "driver" character the Aston is more then worth the money.People have to start getting off the 0-60 BS as the sole measurement of a cars value. It is really boring. Further 99% of the time these cars performance canot be used in any case.

Why not stop the arguing. They are both good cars. I'd love an V12 to compliment my 911 Turbo in my garage any day!. Look at that thing.

Great car. Remember the ode Clarkson did on this one a few months ago about a vanishing breed? A classic. While not as hyper as the 911 Turbo or equivalents mentioned above, the Vantage V12 is a peerless GT.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All of the cars mentioned are great rides. It just depends on what you want/like. I have or have had a Vette, 944, 911, F430 and V8 Vantage. They have all been terrific cars. For going fast, the Vette (650+ HP/700+ lbs/ft) and the Ferrari, although very different, would take the cake. For handling/track driving, the F430. For engineering and precision, the Porsches. For pure grin factor, the Vette. But for pure beauty and overall driving experience (i.e., combination of real world handling, sound [both the engine and the sound system] and speed), the Bondmobile is the easy winner. I can only imagine what the V12 is like. Ask someone else, and I am sure you will get a different take. That is why it is so wonderful that there are so many great cars.
