Audi Q3 Concept coming at the 2010 Paris Motor Show

Audi Q3 Concept coming at the 2010 Paris Motor Show
It appears that Audi took the decision to unveil the new Q3 Concept at this year’s 2010 Paris Motor Show. The new car will be based on the current Vw Tiguan and is expected to share the same engines with the German crossover: a 2.0-liter TDI engine capable to deliver around 140 hp and a 1.6-liter petrol engine.

Although there are no details regarding the new car, we expect it to be a rival for the Nissan Qashqai but also for the recently launched MINI Countryman. Of course, the idea of an Audi Q3 is not new, as the manufacturer officially announced last summer that the new car will be build at the Seat’s Martorell plant, in Spain.

That face is sinful. Audi, please check out BMW's latest X5, or Porsche's SUV for some decent looks.

The designers are getting as lazy as Porsche's.

The more hate, the better the indication that Audi is doing something right. No wait, significant sales improvement (matching MB), increased profits, many awards won, superior design and quality, leading styling (BMW, MB following the LED lead and sportscar segment lead - R8)... I guess these don't mean much to you people. Perhaps the numerous motorsport wins in all major motorsports including two of the top series in the world, DTM and 24LM... too bad Audi left SCCA GT and ALMS, in which it too dominated for years.

Awesome design, leveraging other makes is the smart way of doing it. BMW has for years pretended that they are independent but they are desperately trying to leverage costs and are failing. Trying to bring the Mini brand into the large vehicle category is ridiculous... who ever heard of a large size "Mini SUV". Similarly, BMW drops the RWD mantra for FWD vehicles...sure, for BMW its ok, but others are not.

MB has nice designs but it is getting caught in following others' leads. Copying the front LED eyebrows from Audi is way too obvious, but I would take a MB over any BMW anyday of the weak.

Time to drool.

Having owned BMW's for the greater part of my life, I don't think that I can ever imagine myself driving around in an Audi. With that said I think that Audi has the most attractive line up of the the 3 german makes, but this looks downright fugly. Looks like an A1 on steroids.

Just as a counter-point, having owned 3 BMWs in 13 years, two of which are still in my stable, I can't imagine myself driving around in one of *today's* BMWs. Great cars as they may be, their styling just doesn't appeal to me. Audi's A5 is much more to my taste, inside and out.

But even with that said, Audi's styling is not all hits across the board. The Huge Gaping Grill is an issue with all models, more so in some than others. And this Q3 seems to take the worst design elements from across the board, and combine them into one.
