2011 Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design reveled ahead of Paris Motor Show

Following the tradition, Volvo unveiled today the S60 and V60 R-Design, two new sporty versions which will deliver a new driving experience. Besides the striking red colour, the new cars also offer new body kits consisting of a new front bumper, aluminum covers for the side mirrors, a new rear roof spoiler (available only for the V60 version) and a new rear bumper air diffuser and integrated exhaust system.

But the changes were not made only to the exterior. As expected, the new vehicles are now fitted with a strut brace, a bar that ties together the suspension strut towers in order to stiff up the body structure and make the steering feel more responsive.

Umm. Where is the power boost for being an R? Is Volvo copying the losing formula from Toyota and their TRD variants who just have some appearance and suspension upgrades? I hardly consider adding strut bars a HUGE leap, most kids do this to their Civics for $40.

R-Design != R. It's like Audi's S-Line package is not an S. This is just a exterior appearance package.

You can get a very clean V70R with some mileage for the 20's. 5 cylinder turbo w/ 300hp, 6 speed manual, leather, sleeper looks, and a wagon. drool...

Owned an 04 V70R w/ 6spd and it rocked! Hated to see it go.
