Lexus LF-A concept to get major changes

AutoExpress is reporting that the Lexus LF-A will use a carbon fiber body rather than the aluminum one shown on the concept.

The V10 will also be larger producing 500hp and will acheive a top speed of over 200MPH.

Look for the debut at the Tokyo motor show.

Pricing should be around $150k.

I do agree with u partially,but i still think Toyota can do it and can provide us with a Carbon fibre car for 150K.
ANd think if it's carbon, then imagine the weight and performance.
I think a bomb Legend is arriving in the Exotic category.

Wow, what they need to do is have two engines. A 4.5L V8 porducing around 350-380 hp. And make a have LEV (low emmissions vehicle)Same with the V10, maybe 5.0L I know Lexus can reduce some of the horsepower but gain it right back by addig a bi-turbo and cold air intake. That would make the horsepower even more maybe around 600! It will certainly cut the price. Mybe for $117,000 I would buy it. If they make a V8 it should be priced around $77,000 - $80,000 (ish). I mean if te Dodge Viper can cost just under $100,000 why can't this? And I'm sure this engine is significantly smaller than the Viper's 8.0L V10!
If Lexus wants to release a supercar they really need to keep there rep as a company whose vehicles have low emmisions. So they better be careful!

Oh yeah... they also need to cover up those fan rotars a bit more!
And that triple exhaust is sooo clunky. Maybe a Quad would work. Eh?

Have you seen the interior of the Viper? Nuff said. The Viper cannot compete against Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Porsches. This LF-A is going after those cars. There will be much more technology and R&D into this car than Dodge could possibly imagine. The Viper is a cost cutting muscle car. The LF-A isn't.

The LF-A is implementing an F1 engineered V10 engine with 100hp/litre and the latest F1 technology from TOYOTA's F1 knowledge. I don't have time to go into ALL the why's and huh's, but I will ask this one question: What brings people to think that a $150,000 supercar that is implementing the latest F1 technologies will get 'beat' by the cheapest Porsche? Is there something in the water? I would like to hear the credible arguements! (OK, two questions!)

I'm sorry.You know mikeg and David, you are so right about that Viper thing. I think this LF-A is more of a Porsche 911 competator or a Lamorghini Gallardo competator!

I am still trying to contemplate the massive issues of repairing a CF car. "Yes you heard right sir, the small dent on the door will cost $8,000 to fix. I advise you talk to your insurance company." If they can keep the car to $150K, then there is no car it is ALL CF! I will assume it will incorporate strategic CF panels here and there. I hope the car lives up to the hype. Sounds good so far.
