Bugatti’s new model has more luxury, less power
If you though that Bugatti will not bring anything new to its lineup, think again as the manufacturer is planning to launch a four-seat sedan dubbed Galibier 16C in 2013.

The new car will carry a price tag of $1.5 million and its production will be limited to 300 units, just like the Veyron supercar (also, we do expect some special edition of the sedan). The new Galibier will be manufactured using carbon fiber and aluminum, in order to reduce weight, and will be powered by the same 8.0-liter W16 engine but detuned from 1000 hp to 800 hp.

If it's limited to 300 vehicles, how many special editions will they limit it to? 250?

Actually, they had some Bugatti concepts back in the 90's that looks to be the foundation of this upcoming uber-sedan. Being with in the VW stable will yield loads of existing high-end components that will ensure development & production costs are well within a profit inducing budget no-matter the quantity made.

The concept is considerable substantial. It's has that grandeose exterior that Chrysler tried to re-create with the Imperial concept from 2006. But the imperial wasn't bold enough, not slick enough at the time. I can imagine VW starting with a Bentley platform as a foundation.

Hmmm. I suspect that the Bugatti designers did not start with a blank, clean sheet of paper on this car. Bugatti is a part of the Volkswagen Group, after all, and I suspect that these guys borrowed some styling themes from their work on more mundane models.
For instance, doesn't the rear end of the Galiber remind you of the Porsche Panamera?
And don't the wheels remind you of the previous-generation Audi A8?
Or is it just me?

It's a $1.3M hatch back - - - that will be a tough sell in America! The interior is just gorgeous, the side view is understated elegance with a bit of flare, somewhat Bently like, and rear looks a little Panamera'ish. I detest the central rib that runs down the top and rear window - - - this has been resurrected from the 1930's, where is should have died long ago.
