Bugatti Veyron VS BMW S 1000 RR Which Is The Faster Machine?

Bugatti Veyron VS BMW S 1000 RR Which Is The Faster Machine?

First a few numbers.

2010 Bugatti Veyron 16.4: 1,001 horsepower, 253 mph.

2010 BMW S 1000 RR: 190 hp, 191 mph.

Oh, and then there are the price tags: $1.3 million for the Bugatti, a mere $14,295 for the BMW.

But at this moment, we're not worried about the numbers. All we can think about is the French supercar sitting behind us, buzzing like an impertinent bluebottle fly in the mirrors of the 2010 BMW S 1000 RR. And now it behooves us to unleash the BMW's inner demon and show this, this insect of a 2010 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 the true, grand order of nature.

mmmm... "fast" would be the veyron as it can reach the "fastest" speed. I also wonder how the bike fairs in a corner compared to this heavy car.

"It's no track car — even Pierre-Henri admits it only took a single demonstration lap at Le Mans to melt the Veyron's brakes."

The bike is the hands down winner, you could buy almost 10,000 S1000RRs for what the Bugatti cost. The bike is more fuel efficient, had identical acceleration times with the Bugatti to 150 mph. And its faster around a track, and in the real world...just read the article.

The simple fact that the veyron can compete with the bike is a revelation. They're aren't too many cars that can accelerate at the same rate as a 1000cc sportbike. Maybe 2 or 3.

HA HA HA .. Love it...

I agree with so much of the article, but the line that tickles me the most is the last one..

"As we pack up at the end of the day and strap our luggage rack to the back of the BMW, we realize that the S 1000 RR even has more storage capacity than the Veyron 16.4. Ha! Bike wins again. Who'd have thought it?"

The only wrong part part that I saw was the part that said "the fastest bike" come on....best bikes are Japanesse and Italian....not the BMW....it is too heavy when you compare that to let say a Ducati 1100...Fastest than let say a Suzuki Hayabusa....Please. 190 mph agains 220 from Hayabusa.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LHmE-IiCDw&feature=fvst .

"You'll find that 100 mph comes up in 5.3 seconds while the speed is all over at 191 mph. Sure, bikes like the BMW K1300S and Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa might get to 60 mph quicker, but NO STREET BIKE IS FASTER IN A STRAIGHT LINE than the BMW S 1000 RR."

The newer Hayabusa cant exceed 190mph. Ducati makes a 1098 and its over 40hp down

The hyabusa may have a faster top speed but can't handle near as well as the BMW. It is nowhere near as tossable or close to the handling of the BMW. Yonder, for you to say the best bikes are Japanese and Italian, not BMW shows you don't know much about bikes. BMW bikes are some of the best built bikes on the road. Even a Harley Davidson die hard fanatic will even admit to that. While many Japanese sport bikes may be faster than the average BMW bike, their build quality, ride quality etc is far ahead. It all depends on what you are looking for. BMW was making bikes before they ever mad cars and set numerous speed records since way back.

The Hayabusa isnt faster than a S1000rr. Also quality is a matter of opinion.

To ALL BMW fans FYI: "In 2000, fears of a European regulatory backlash or import ban[13][14][15] led to an informal agreement between the Japanese and European manufacturers to govern the top speed of their motorcycles at an arbitrary limit.[16]

The media-reported value for the speed agreement in miles per hour was consistently 186 mph, while in kilometers per hour it varied from 299 to 303 km/h, which is typical given unit conversion rounding errors. This figure may also be affected by a number of external factors,[17] as can the power and torque values.[18]" Hayabusa is 197 HP. Top speed With governor as Europeans fear the Japanese. Also How can You Explain that almost all the the Motors Champions (manufactures) are Japanese or Italian?. BMW S 1000 RR, that bike is great....Lighter than the Hayabusa also it have 7 hp more than the Hayabusa and is doing great but not enough to beat the Japenese and Italians in the tracks. Do some research on Internet and Wikipedia.....and then tell me again than the BMW S 1000 RR is the fastest bike in the world, for now I can asure ..it is not. This is a list of OTHER category (500CC) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_500cc/MotoGP_Motorcycle_World_Champions as you can see , since 1975 the list is just Japan and Italia. I can show you more Numbers..not words (there is a lot of information about the topic).....and finaly the BMW S 1000 RR is a master piece but not the best. What I can say in favor of the BMW, it does not have a match when you want a bike that looks like brand new across the years. Talking about the Ducati...yes it have less power but also less weight and thats why most of motorsport pilots say that it handles better than the Bimmer. Lets face it.....at the current, Japanese are kings of the bikes....Followed in a distant place by Ducati..

Yonder I see you did your research and I retract the previous statement about you not knowing much about bikes. +1 for you

Granted the S1000RR hasn't YET established itself in the world of motorsport, but it's only a matter of time. This year it has destroyed the opposition in the FIM Superstock 1000 World Championship... WSBK victories will follow I'm sure.

It is an amazing bike.

The 2011 Kawi zx10 is said to have more power than the BMW and is lighter.

No one said it was faster around a track than some Japanese, and Italian bikes. The S1000rr is the fastest accelerating bike through the quarter mile and up to its top speed, and its one of the easiest bikes to ride fast.

I agree.....worthless comparison. Maybe a head to head with an Ariel Atom would be more interesting

I disagree, it shows that even us 'normal' people can acheive Veyron style performance at a realistic price... you can have a 320 and an S1000RR for the cost of an Atom, and one of each series in both BMW's car and bike line up for the cost of a Veyron.
