Bmw announced markets for 1-Series ActiveE electric car field trial
In the summer of 2011, the BMW 1-Series ActiveE field trial will begin. According to the carmaker, the participants will include the New York metro market and the Greater Los Angeles Area, the metropolitan market of San Diego, Greater San Francisco and Sacramento areas, and Boston.

BMW said that this ActiveE field trial will make use of the experience gained during the MINI E field trial, which is already in its second year.

I've seen a MINI E in person, and drove with someone in it- it was impressive... Can't wait to see some of these in my area and maybe drive one myself.

From a twin-turbo engine to an electric engine? I'm not sure how I feel about this. At least it will have a lot of low-end torque like the twin-turbo engine in my 5 series.
