Audi sets record

In the first four months of this year, Audi sold 304,400 vehicles to customers worldwide, an increase of 12 percent on last year (271,615)*. Audi handed over 77,600 vehicles in April, 4.5 percent more than in the same month last year. These figures represent the best April and the best four months in the history of the company.

The Audi A3 (up 19 percent to 85,900 units) continues to feature among the models with the highest growth rates worldwide in the first four months. Sales of the Audi A4 Cabriolet rose by 4.3 percent to 9,650 vehicles. The Audi A6 posted an increase of 42 percent to 79,400 models sold. Sales of the Audi A8 totalled some 8,000 units, up 19 percent. And just under 6,300 Audi Q7 models have been handed over to customers since the launch of this vehicle.

Ralph Weyler, Board Member for Marketing and Sales at AUDI AG, commented: “In the first quarter, Audi was the market leader worldwide in the premium segment with the A6. The success of our models demonstrates that we have made significant strides in terms of our volume and sales structure.”

The Chinese market recorded the highest growth rate of all from January to April: a total of 26,636 vehicles were sold, more than double the figure achieved in the same period last year (12,867). A significant increase was also recorded in April, with model sales up 70 percent to 7,475 units.

Sales in Europe also went up considerably: Audi handed over 227,500 vehicles to their new owners in the first four months, an increase of 6.5 percent. With a total of 56,900 models sold in April, vehicle sales attained similar heights to last year (57,187).

In the USA, 25,296 models were sold between January and April (24,037). This represents a growth rate of 5.2 percent. The total for April was 7,412 (7,202), an increase of almost 3 percent.

Ralph Weyler stated: “These positive figures mean that we feel that our product and sales strategy has been endorsed, since Audi has achieved significant growth both in established markets and in new markets in Asia and Eastern Europe. But there’s still plenty of potential for achieving more.”

It looks like maybe not this year, but next year Audi will hit the million cars per year mark. Sunny, where are you. I guess there are a million idiots every year who buy Audis. This will be very close to what BMW and MB sell a year. Audi is on track. This also comes from a company with fewer car models than MB or BMW. Its first SUV is just coming out. Soon Audi will have just as many car models as BMW and MB. Audi's future is very bright right now. The current A4 is better than the C class and not far behind the 3 series. When the completely new one comes out, it will be great. (the current A4 is just a refreshening of the older one)

It's good to see Audi out there making some records congrats Audi.

But hey Audi guys (special ones),don't be too serious about Audi's victory, and don't call all that names provoking some haters to come here and ruin this blog too.

I think it's not the haters who just start bashing in every other blog, but it's the specific fans who provoke them, to come in a blog and completly ruin it blow it with false information and ignorancy.

Am i right?

Well i can see Audi doing very well acording to the numbers but one thing which i am looking for is missing, that is BMW, MB,Lexus,Infinit...etc is still doing very well.Even after Audi's this much success over the months or years,Audi didn't clinched their sales or didn't harm or effected their sales.

In short, i can still see BMW making records,Mercedes making records,Lexus,Infiniti...etc all are making records.

So whose sales is Audi eating.

At last congrats Audi, want to see u at the top.

I expected Audi to hurt BMW, Mercedes, Lexus....etc sales, but they didnt.
It's good they got good numbers but not what me or any other Audi fan expected them to do.
Hurt competitors sales, clinch the sales from them. Then u'll be a winner like BMW(usually)

Have you done any research, or seen any research to support what you claim? I can't give you any data that says that Audi has stolen byers from other companies, but can you provide any evidence that it hasn't?

U even got good points.

"The premium market is growing faster than any other market"
"New toys always do well"
That's true.

For example checkout the sales of the new S Class,M5,M6,A6,F430...etc

"Audi and all the premium makes are doing very well. The question is where all these rich buyers coming from? Are people's economic status improving world wide allowing them to by more premium luxury goods? Just look at China."

China,Russia,Japan,India...etc
But hey China was never poor.

But now i am going to research about the success of Audi, that what's the reason behind Audi's sudden success.I am impressed.
