Take A Glimpse Into Lexus's Crystal Ball, Is An LFA Drop Top On The Horizon?

Take A Glimpse Into Lexus's Crystal Ball, Is An LFA Drop Top On The Horizon?
Although Toyota has had a rough year, that will not stop the brand from continuing to make its push as a global sales leader in the luxury market. And, it's got some big plans.

We know that a decent portion of its products have been aging and with that we know updates will be coming shortly. Think of it like this, like a wartime battle, the reinforcements will be coming in momentarily.

Next up for an update are the IS, GS and ES. Obviously the ES and IS are more important since they are larger volume players for the "L" brand.

Probably the most intriguing idea that is mentioned is a rumored VX. Said to focus more on passenger seating than anything else, this crossover sounds like Lexus's take on the Mercedes-Benz R-Class. Can you hear the cash register from the fleet sales yet?

But if this isn't exciting you, perhaps this will. The 500-unit production LFA *may* make another appearance except with one change; no roof. Predicted to be a 2014 model year vehicle, 00R is already dreaming of the LFA's high-pitched squeal as he books it through the first turn.

Lexus' sales lead in the luxury wars is under threat from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, in part because of aging products in crucial segments. But several new or redesigned Lexus models are due to be launched in the next year.

Besides replacing the slow-selling GS series and the volume-leading ES 350, Lexus will move into the entry-luxury segment with the CT 200h hybrid hatchback...

hmmm... I think that the convertible version will weigh less then the hard top. They had to have already overbuilt the chassis, considering it weighs more then a corvette and is made out of carbon fiber and has a smaller engine.

Isn't that obvious since Lexus already showed the concept?

I read on egmcartech that the VX may be more of an X6 or FX competitor, not R-Class. This could easily be the case, if only the have the balls to put the IS-F's V8 in it for a top of the line model.
