Ford Might Be Working On All Green GT40 Successor
Rumors are circulating in Dearborn that Ford Motor Company is considering a new, high-priced, low-volume halo car to follow up the GT40-inspired Ford GT built for its 100th anniversary in 2003.

The new model may not be a traditional performance car. Some high-level execs within the Blue Oval are suggesting the next halo should be a highly fuel-efficient, or electric, low-/no-emissions "green" model.

I agree. I have a 1:18 scale die cast GT90 and it is awesome looking.

They should build more of the most current model, bring the price down, and strive to out perform the Corvette Z06. It is a beautiful work of art though. The ability to over price beautiful art should suck up the cost of an underperforming hybrid.

Let be honest! It doesn't matter if Ford builds the greatest, greeniest super exotic on the planet. The Ford Dealer network is only going to screw things up by placing huge mark-ups on the product. Few people will buy it and the model will be discontinued after three to four years.

Secondly, if you build this car Ford, do not tell people that you sourced parts for your super-exotic from other economical cars in your product line.

Bad, bad idea.

Why can't car makers understand that no one wants a high performance hybrid or electric in the middle of the second coming of the horsepower age?
