SPIED: Next-Gen Hyundai Elantra Caught On Camera

SPIED: Next-Gen Hyundai Elantra Caught On Camera
Looks like the 2011 Ford Fiesta has got some competition coming from Korea. The brand that had a stellar 2009 and has introduced some tremendous products over the past 24 months is at it again. Instead of expanding its brand into the luxury market, Hyundai is getting back to its bread and butter.

The next-generation Elantra.

**Thanks to spy photographer Fred Khaz for the image

And if anyone has seen past generation Elantras, it is pretty obvious they weren't the best vehicles on the road. But this Elantra is looking to change that. Keeping in tune with other Hyundai products, it boasts a stylish new look and its interior -- from what 00R has seen -- looks like a higher-end product.

Is Hyundai keeping the ball rolling?

Hyundai is killing it with the new design direction of their sedans. I wish they could transfer some of that talent over to the SUV department.

When I first saw the early pics of this car I was not impressed and I was fixing to come in here and restate that. But I have had to haul up. This is not bad at all.

I keep seeing the name Fiesta come up. The car(s) that should be worried about this car are the Civic, Corolla, Sentra, current Focus, and it's own kin: the Kia Forte. This is the market that the Elantra will compete in. It is going to leave huge teeth marks in the sales charts of those vehicles. The only competitor that will hold it's own is the Mazda 3, the king of the class right now. The new Cruze could not have picked a worse time to come out. Think the Sonata is hard to get at dealers. Wait until this car lands. The dealers are gone love this car.

Accent = Fiesta
Elantra = Focus
Sonata = Fusion
Azera = Taurus

As for the article, the Elantra is another nice car from Hyundai. Wonder who is going down the line de-boosting everyone?

Looks like a mini Sonata from this view. Not a bad thing, but I'm not ready to declare it a victory over either the Fiesta or Focus until I've driven it.

Hyundai is making big moves in the industry and there's no doubt in that. They're now comparable to their immediate competition which is Toyota, Honda and Nissan. Their designs are far superior to the the Honda-Acura cars out today. They are pushing themselves hard with marketing and promising execution.

I think it needs bigger headlamps perhaps some that stretch all the way past the drivers door or something...

the headlights belong to a full size sedan, not this car!

Looks pretty good. Even with overstated headlamps.

Actually... thats where you're wrong. I know people who design for Hyundai, 2 in fact... (Both graduates from my school)... clearly you know nothing about the design process...

This car was researched and desgined 6 years ago... so 2004... 2 years prior to the release of the previous generation.

And i love how people accuse Hyundai for design theft... when they at least look more original than Ford.. i mean Honda(3 bar grille pun).

Next time you want to accuse Hyundai of "spying" on other manufacturers, do your research on Design and Development first. Because youll have people like me, who know better in this field, correct you and make you look like an idiot.

And another thing i love is that one person who's down grading every positive comment and upgrading the negative. You're cool.
