Don't You HATE These Five? OR Are You One Of Them?

Driving from New York to Washington D.C. today was particularly frustrating. And, with good reason. If any of you have driven on the US's interstates, you would soon realize there are a lot of annoying drivers.

Yeah, my beef is with the guy in the left lane who insists on driving the same speed as the middle and slow lane, thus, creating a blockage. Or how about the person that is chowin' down on a burger and fries while navigating to their destination. These days, it's a bad scene out there. Especially because I would guesstimate that six out of 10 people driving are chatting on their telephones.

Although you may see 00R as a Scrooge, do not think I am the only one. Take a look at this blog post I found.

If there’s one thing I love to do in this world it’s drive on the open road.  There’s just something awesome about taking a drive, enjoying the music, and getting from A to B with no hassle.  Except the part about no hassle is rarely if ever true.

Driving can be a serious pain in the ass sometimes.  Ranging from traffic to getting lost, we always seem to have unexpected crap arise.  Speaking of annoying crap, usually the worst problems are other drivers.   While I love driving, I can’t stand drivers.

And here are five that drive me up the wall…..

The list is as follows:

1) The cell phone talker
2) The guy who goes up your ass
3) The super slow driver
4) The fast reckless guy
5) The in and out of lane guy

"Rear-quarter-heroes" and "at-or-below speed limit" drivers are tied for first in my book because they always come in twos. There's nothing worse than getting behind a slow driver only to find that your blindspot is occupied by some idiot essentially doing the same thing only to such an extent that you can't change lanes.

A close second are the morons that assume that because there's an HOV lane, automatically the fast lane is a slow lane, with slow-accel/high-velocity drivers coming in third.

@ finishline - you speak the truth my friend, though there is a special place in hell for Prius drivers in the 1 & 2 lanes who value increasing their mpg rating over actually paying attention and being considerate drivers.

I'm 2 & 5 because of dumbass 1 & 3's.

Are you being tail gated because you are that slow driver in the fast lane? Are you driving the same speed as the slow lane? Or are you in the slow lane and the tail gater is being the idiot?

The left lane slow driver is a Moron of epic proportions... take them out, and you won't have the in & out drivers...and a whole lot less road rage...

I'm usually on the 2nd lane but hated when the driver on the 1st lane speed up and cut in front of me only to drive slower than me or slam on his or her brake right away, which cause me to slam on my brake, when there's no cars behind me whatsoever.

Littering pisses me off more than anything; it's trashy(no pun intended). And if anyone should have the right to do it, it should be the driver since he'll be the one risking getting fined. A buddy and I went up to a lake about 3 weeks ago. He had 2 beers on the way up, and without warning threw the bottles right out the window. I look at the kid like he's insane and his only justification is, "you have to throw it far like that so it doesn't end up on the highway". Why is this putz throwing anything out of my window?

While not a common thing, when we go on long trips the passengers will have 1 or 2 "roadies". The general rule of thumb though is keep it discreet and don't throw sh** out my window unless you're willing to join it at the same rate of speed.

The one I dislike the most are hypermilers, they are always changing speed! So they pass you then slow down in front of you! ughh.

I agree with you guys about the frustrations other drivers can cause. One thing that really gets to me is people on the freeway that switch lanes without signaling. I'm going 75-80, and you decide to get over right in front of me, with no warning, and you seems to have lost your accelerator in the process of changing lanes. GTFO!!

As someone who drives as much as 300 miles a day for work, thank you! You've covered most of the top dim-bulbs out there. The irony of it all is the cops are too busy running radar to notice and arrest these jerks.
