PARIS MOTOR SHOW: FIRST Look At 2012 Nissan GT-R Interior

PARIS MOTOR SHOW: FIRST Look At 2012 Nissan GT-R Interior
Sometime last week, spy shots of the 2012 Nissan GT-R emerged. Although its exterior has underwent some modifications -- predictably, LED lights, who the hell DOESN'T have them -- the real story is what's going on inside the GT-R's interior.

Although the 2009 GT-R 00R drove had a pretty decent interior, besides looking rather bland and Spartan, it had some sincere quality behind every stitch in the leather.

And for 2012, it appears that Nissan is going to up its game, quite a bit.

In fact the car that was at the 2010 Paris Motor Show appears to have a really luxurious interior. In this shot featuring Carlos Ghosn, you can clearly tell that the blood red, full leather interior features some nice touches with what appears to be carbon fiber on the center stack and an Alcantara headliner.

This makes the GT-R's interior look a lot more high-end. Knowing this, does this change your opinion on the GT-R?

Tucked away in a glassed corner of Nissan's Paris Motor Show booth was the 2012 GT-R facelift. So, did the updated GT-R make its world premiere in Paris or not? Yes and no. See, while the car made its first public appearance in Paris, oddly enough, Nissan said it wouldn't release any information until mid October.

Here's the official statement from the Japanese automaker: "The GT-R engineering team are currently at the Nordschliefe, the legendary circuit in Germany, where they are in the process of signing-off the final updates on the forthcoming enhanced GT-R. Full details of the enhanced GT-R will be announced on 18th October 2010....

I never understand why put the leather on console, especially for a car under $150K. And those diamond pattern, alas, works only for CHANEL.

I'd rather see more metal.

It works pretty well in the Spyker and the CLS as well.

I understand why they upgraded the interior, but I don't need it. I prefer down to business interior of the current GT-R. If I wanted a luxury interior in my supercar, I would buy an Audi R8 V-10.

I like leather. I like metal too, but metal in even the most prestigious car's interior could just be plastic - that annoys me. In the end, they're like apples and oranges.

what is luxurious about the R8s interior......, there are many other supercars with far nicer interiors than mention the R8 as the one to choose for a luxurious interior the swathes of plastic and busy design kill that notion

I was just about to say that bmwdvr, lots of plastic, and a big ugly "chromed" keg shaped shifter knob. The R8 interior is rather overhyped. It's not horrible... just, not what I call luxury.

Amazing, they made an awful looking car look worse. Considering how nice some of the new Nissan sedans look, it's confusing why they can't get their "halo" car to look like it's worth 80K. Hideous.

I don't see why not, it costs enough to warrant one.

Honestly it just doesnt fit the character of the GTR its over the top and it looks like a tuner job (maybe mansory inspired??) with that patch work leather it just doesnt go well with the car at all or in that odd red. The leather wrapped dash though good idea as it is a very expensive car although its relatively cheap.

That interior looks like something out of Dubs magazine.

Either this is an awful interior or a very bad photo.

That is a no-so-flattering shot of the new interior. Here is a better one: http://www.gtrblog.com/2010/09/30/paris-2010-nissan-gt-r-spec-m-egoist-first-video/egoist-paris-001/

To me this is an improvement. I see the interior as better aligned with "exotic" supercars. IMO.
