Hot data comparison- How does the new Audi RS4 stack up against Porsche, BMW and others?

Dear 001,

Check out this comparison...

Audi RS4 vs. The Rest - Interesting data
The Swedish magazine AUTOMOBIL tested the new Audi RS4.

The have their own "A-Test" with different measuremennt as seen below.

As you can see the Audi RS4 does very well - (much) better than I had expected. It reaches Top 5 or Top 10 in most areas, and the competition is very hard!

The verdict for the Audi RS4 was:
"The RS4 is a compromise in harmony between winter capability and your racing license"
The one and only drawback was that they felt the RS4 lacked enough feedback in the steering wheel and pedals. But what you get instead is the possibility to load your car full with stuff, four passangers in comfort in every possible weahter, nothing the BMW M3 can't boast with.

The car was on Pirelli PZero Rossos. 255/35/19

Sunny, Audi's "inferior" product does better than the M5 in several categories, including the all important 0-60. You still think that Audis suck?

I think this article should be renamed E55 WAGON vs. the rest

WHAT THE HELL is a E55 WAGON doing in this comparison????????

"AMG performance is the benchmark, the E55 wagon OR sedan is perfectly fine"

Sure as long as you don't mind the extra 400lbs in the wagon.

What a stupid list.

I think this list just shows all sorts of sport oriented cars, and how they compare. Also that is not the full list. I think the Volvo represents a mildly sporty car just for comparison purposes.

Also, check out this video of the RS4 accelerating 0-169 mph. Take the timer and see how fast it is for your self.

Why E55 Wagon. Why not the sedan.Wagon is offcourse a little heavy and a full 2 second slower than the Sedan.

Nowadyas i see Magazines doing an out of the world comparos.Like this one look at the Volvo there and also a WAGON competing against the 911 and BMW M type of cars.

What a crap

May have a big engine and plenty of torque but where is the handling? Straight line performance does not mean much without handling. This car does not belong in this group. Neither does the Volvo.

Nope, European accelearation are slower for two reasons. They are to 62 miles per hour, not 60. This adds atleast a tenth for quick cars, the slower the car, the more it adds, can be aroud .5 second for 9 second 0-60 car. Second, Europeans don't test the cars on drag strips, they test on tracks, but they are not as grippy as a drag strip, this makes the car at least a couple of seconds slower.

Sunny, the RS4 matches up very well against the M5 in the test. It is faster, and beats it at many different categories. Eventough there is evidence in front of you, you still continue to think that Audis are inferior to BMW. Keep thinking what you want, just ignore the facts.

The Audi RS4 is faster around the ring than the BMW M5 and the Dodge Viper, not to bad. Here is my proof.

Silly kids.

Until you tell me what tires are on each vehicle, and other variables show to be equal (driver, conditions, fuel, tire pressures, etc), the results are meaningless.

For the record, the RS4 always understeers due to its forward weight bias, but quattro provides an advantage any time the track is not dry and clean. The BMWs are each better balanced and arguably more fun to drive on an ideal track, but non necessarily so in the real world.

I'll take the Porsche, thanks.
