Military Requirement To Move Away From Fossil Fuel May Pave The Way For The Public
With insurgents increasingly attacking the American fuel supply convoys that lumber across the Khyber Pass into Afghanistan, the military is pushing aggressively to develop, test and deploy renewable energy to decrease its need to transport fossil fuels.

Last week, a Marine company from California arrived in the rugged outback of Helmand Province bearing novel equipment: portable solar panels that fold up into boxes; energy-conserving lights; solar tent shields that provide shade and electricity; solar chargers for computers and communications equipment.

The easiest decision would be to tell the public you have 15 years to either buy a full electric vehicle or get use to public transportation! I'm a car guy and that would previous statement would hurt, but it needs to happen.

As for your political comment, there is more than enough stupidity and hubris on both sides of the aisle to last the American people for several lifetimes! The best way to win a war is to not get one to start.

huu76, Your mind is so warped with generalizations that it is unbelievable and unfortunate. In your mind and life, all liberals, all Chinese, and all Koreans are bad. The fact that you rely on generalizations and stereotypes speaks volumes about your lack of cognitive resources and flexibility to allow for more nuanced thinking...Speaking of colonialism, it was bad that the Japanese colonized Korea, and then never completely owned up to it.

$400. a gallon! Lets be real, the military isn't going to change there gas/diesel engines for something that isn't as cheap to run,They must have as good or better range than the current engines. Maybe nuclear?
