125 MPH Close Call Cripples Veyron On Autobahn

The £1.5 million supercar was travelling down the autobahn in Germany at 125mph on Sunday morning when another motorist pulled out to overtake a 16-wheel juggernaut.

According to the police report, the Veyron’s driver couldn’t brake in time and tried to push between the gap of the truck and overtaking car, hitting the front left corner of the truck with its front right corner before bouncing off into the car on the left lane.

Nobody was injured in the smash – but the lorry crashed into a guardrail and nearly tipped over, requiring a crane to return it to an upright position

At least it was on the autobahn not some city street where the person could have potentially damaged buildings or kill people.

Power and performance aside, I've always thought the Veyron has a grill that gives the impression of someone purse their lip when they suck on a lemon. In this case, I can see the Veyron driver making the same "oooohh" mouth expression as he sees the car pulling into his lane.

The number of Veyrons that have been totalled is telling me something. It's the official vehicle of people with more money than brains.
