STUD or DUD: Is The 2011 Dodge Charger Another Car That Will Help SAVE Chrysler?
Although our friends down below write that this could be "one of the less exciting reveals of the year," its importance should not be overlooked. After all, this is the make-or-break point for Chrysler Group.

If the company can continue with strong products like the all-new, 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 00R sees no reason why Chrysler will struggle. The problem is the brand needs to get these new vehicles out to the market sooner rather than later.

The faster brand perception changes, the better.

And helping make that change is the all-new Dodge Charger. Looking a bit more rounded off than last generation, we're hoping its interior gets a thorough overhaul.

But judging from what you see, do you think she's a STUD or a DUD?

In what could be one of the less exciting reveals of the year after all those scoop and police car pictures / videos hit the web these past few months, the Chrysler Group today officially unleashed the civilian version of its 2011 Dodge Charger. However, the revelation is still not over as we'll have to wait for the interior shots and the complete details on the mechanical upgrades.

Fo
r 2011, the redesigned Charger moves a little bit closer design-wise to the Detroit firm's 1999 concept model of the same name - though, not near enough to get us keyed up. At the front end, Dodge modernized the Charger with its new "split crosshair" grille, a restyled bumper and new headlamps. The aluminum hood design is also new and now features dual "scallops", while the windshield is laid at a "faster" angle....

I've seen this car in person. It has a presence the photos do not show. It's really well designed and once Dodge produces the awesome throwback colors and accents, it will look fantastic. There are marked echoes of the 69-70 Charger all round. It's a well done modern-retro design and should do well in the marketplace.

BTW, the interior is a decided improvement on the previous interior. Better materials, higher quality and a better design with upgrades in design and workmanship similar to the ones we see on the new Grand Cherokee. Not quite up to Audi standards but a big step forward nonetheless.

I like the LEDs that run around the tailights. Its a nice evolution of the current car. But I could never own one, these cars are everywhere. I like to have a little exclusivity with my rides.

go buy a tata nano? I bet you don't see them around everywhere.

PlanB-Exclusivity means possibly 2 solutions
1)Spending a bunch more money to get a vehicle that is not produced in high numbers
2)Buying a car that has not sold well.
Porsches cost a lot more money but they are a dime a dozen,as are Audis and BMW's. So that means Jaguar or else Italian.Don't want to spend a bundle of dough try a Suzuki Kisashi. It's a decent car for the price that is not selling well. Mitsubishi struggles and you see a lot more WRX's then Evo's. Bare in mind I'm talking "new" car.But there is the specialty car market as in Kit cars. How about a Vintage or Beck Speedster. You could go a little higher and go for a Caterham Super Seven Road Sport. You want exclusive you got it.

I think you see more Evo's than Subies on the road because Mitsubishi has a bad reputation for reliability.

I see Chargers at least 4-5 times a day and I have no doubts it'll be the same with this model. If I can go only seeing it once a day thats cool with me. I'm seriously considering the 2011 Kia Optima. It won't sell in big numbers but I'm sure it'll be an awesome car given its Hyundai Sonata roots.

Wasn't a fan of the outgoing Charger's styling, but I do like this one. Can't wait to see the SRT-8 version.

The interior needs A LOT of work, the outside is a nice improvement...

OOR: Your flame-bait subject assumes that Chrysler is sliding towards death, and that one car save it from oblivion. I don't buy into your disjointed thinking.

@Steve

You don't think outside the box often, do you?

No kidding this one vehicle will save the brand. But it is another suggestion of Chrysler Group making strides. First was the Jeep Grand Cherokee, this is act II.

I really like the re-designed rear end...reminiscent of the '70 Charger, also love the exhaust tips. The scallop on the sides is also a tribute to the '70. Not sold on the front facia, should have completed the "new" look by making the front more retro too.

I like it. I also like the Red interior, the 8 speed tranny, and the new level of craftmenship of the interior. Those are things that arent revealed yet but you will see. I hope a manual is standard across all models. *crosses fingers*

This car can help save Chrysler if the various law enforcement agencies decide to buy the "cop car" version to replace their aging Crown Vics.

The Charger is a very good car for the money. Just wish that I could say that about more of their lineup.

It looks good to me. I really like the the backend and how Chrylser perfered to give it more of a redesign instead of a facelift. Good job.
