No evidence of electronic throttle linked to acceleration flaw, says Toyota
In a review conducted by Toyota Motors Corp. on 4,200 individual acceleration-related complaints, no evidence has been found that supports the claim that its electronic throttle control caused unintended acceleration, according to Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's North American chief quality officer.

In a conference call, St. Angelo said that Toyota’s engineers and technicians have studied more than 4,000 US vehicles and has not found a single case in which electronics would lead to sudden unintended acceleration.

Do you know anything about how vehicles work or understood a single word I said?

The professor was proving that the black boxes in Toyota's were incapable of recognizing the difference of a faulty sensor, which is what Toyota still claims that they are capable of.

The research Toyota did has little impact over the professors original findings.

Also, I find it very hypocritical in how you can hold a bias against the professor due to possible funding sources, yet you can easily ignore possible bias from the company itself. Let alone from a company that has been proven to repeatedly lie and cover up in regards to issues such as this.

lol, but of course, DJ Spinmaster loves to manipulate what people say, it's how he rolls!

Well the scare did do what the NHTSA had the political mandate to do. Punish Toyota for not helping bail out GM and stop its growth. Plus it bought 2 years for the domestics while Toyota recovers from the gut punch.

I am pretty sure that the Toyota board new this was coming once they said no to helping bail out GM and let the NUMMI plant close.

This is all BS.....I have driven Toyota for most of my 26 year old driving years (10 years) from an 84 tercel hatchback to a 2008 Camry SE V6...LOL and have never experience all of 2008-2010's Hype. I will say my floor mat was stuck on the accelerator, but that was my fault...I didnt properly place back after the car detail....thats hardly mechanical or electrical.

Why is that Toyota's are the main cars you see used online with 300K+ miles? Not to say I would buy, but that says a lot of the quality in your products....

Joe_Limon.....STFU....I dont like you at all...you dont speak on fact, you speak on emotion which is why I never took you serious. I look at your name and keep scrolling down....Republican?

hahaha, yes, cause one isolated incidence is a solid basis of truth. I've never had any problems in any of the vehicles I've driven. Does this mean that all the quality issues that GM and Ford have witnessed are all bunk?

That's a nasty two edged sword you're wielding watch out which way you swing it.

I, for one, agree with Joe.

First, Toyota has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they can't be trusted to tell the truth.

Second, as I have posted previously, if Toyota is so sure that its design does not have any faults, why won't they release the code to an independent third party for fault analysis?

Third, if you don't have a relevant engineering degree or equivilent experience, you have no idea what you're talking about because you do not understand the complexities, tradeoff's, and/or constraints that go into the design, manufacture, and validation of such a system.

In previous posts I have clearly explained how an electronic control system could have an undetected fault which only appears sporadically under real world conditions. This latest annoucement from Toyota does not change my previous position.

Okay, all together now!...

Pro-Toyota Folks: See! Yet more evidence that unintended acceleration is Audi Unintented Acceleration, Part II!

Anti-Toyota Folks: Lies! We know Toyota is guilty. Thye must be held accountable for those deaths. Of course their own guy will tow the company line and say they're innocent. Lies! All lies!!!

Next :-(

I think with the government basically taking over GM, that DoT/NHTSA cannot be considered neutral, especially with a foreign owned company that competes with it. There is just too much politics involved to ignore. That lady that was saying "shame on Toyota" after her Lexus magically took off should be brought in under oath to clarify her position and reminded that perjury is a crime. That hearing was a sham.

The Matrix was not part of the recall, so why you are posting a picture of it is beyond me.
