Report: Lincoln considering a new luxury pickup truck
Ford Motor Co. is hoping that its third attempt to sell a new luxury pickup from Lincoln would be a success. Previously, Ford has revealed plans to revive the luxury brand with seven all-new or revised vehicles within the next four years. A source said that a new luxury pickup is included in this list. The first time that Ford tried to sell a high-end hauler to luxury buyers was when it offered the controversially styled and functionally limited 2002 Lincoln Blackwood.

This only lasted for a single model year. Next, the carmaker offered the 2005-2008 Lincoln Mark LT but it didn’t do well in the U.S and Canada as it was deemed too similar to the Ford F-150 to achieve success on its own.

I think they should first improve their car line and then concentrate on the trucks. I wouldn't take a Lincoln if it was being given to me for free. Well...maybe I would...and then trade it immediately for a Buick or a Cadillac.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this so-called "news" was confirmed by a Lincoln official/insider to be nothing but a rumor. Lincoln has no plans to re-enter the pickup truck segment. As a matter of fact, Mexico is the only place that still offers the Mark LT since its found its niche there. I would put the website link up to where I read this news but I dont want my comment deleted by the individuals in charge of autospies again.

@Lacman

I wish I could believe that, but the potential profit from asinine vehicles like these is too great for short-sided automotive executives to pass up.

SUV and truck sales will tank as soon as gas goes up again, but Ford brings our a revised Edge, a new F150, a new Explorer, and NOW wants to create a Lincoln-branded truck line?

I guess a Fusion hybrid and a Fiesta was all we could hope for - then its right back to doing things like its 2005 all over again.

You really ought to do some research before you post completely unsubstantiated rumors. I realize that you scour the all the auto blogs for your stories, so you should also have seen this in your plagiaristic voyage....

The interwebs have been full of Lincoln rumors today. The latest: A luxury pickup based on the Ford F-Series Super Duty.
If it seems hard to believe, it's because, according to Lincoln, it is.
"A luxury pickup is not part of Lincoln's future product plan," a Lincoln representative told Leftlane.

It still amazes me how all they did was put a grill insert on the front and some chrome down the side. They couls have at least made the front end different like cadillac did with the tahoe err i mean escalade

Chevy: corvette only
GM: Escalade, CTS, STS/DTS variant (you get only one though)
Ford/Lincoln: I'll get back to you (hold your breath)
Volunteer: small and large pick, it doesn't matter they are all the same

So, let's see, exotic, small and large car, SUV, pick up...by golly I think we have the solution to our car crisis here in the US!

The grill is ugly, and how is the interior any better that the F-150? Just a different badge, They should add something more powerful and economical, and sportier, why not an off road version with leather?

At least the escalade made the front end different and more elegant so it doesn't look exactly like the tahoe it is based on. This truck looks like someone went to the local autoparts store and got a grill insert and some chrome accents trim for the bottom
