V12 Diesel...I gotta see this!

It's just a mule. Old body, but new underpinnings. It will look different. The V18 diesel will be awesome. I think it will have about 400 horsepower. The new V10 sounds interesting as well.

Exactly! I posted not too long ago about Audi (and BMW) needing to be quicker to market w/their S/RS (and M) models like MB, who seems to have an AMG version of every model simultaneously introduced.

And for those who believe everything they see, these are only test mules and Photoshop renderings of ideas. Audi does not disappoint in design. Neither does any other manufacturer if you like their brand.

Won't the new V12 TDI is the same as the W12 TDI that's already in some Toureg and Phaeton models.(nearly same engines)Whatever,
but i think Audi is doing a good job by bringing all that top performance engines in their cars.
But the only problem i have is that they are unable to extract all the HP from an engine which they should.
like S8's 5.2 V10 only produces 450HP infact it is Turbo charged.
BMW got 507 HP from a comparably smaller displacement engine 5.0,that's even naturally aspirated.
Same way, MB reduced the Cylinders but is getting 520HP from the 6.3 litre engine.

If i have to choose,i will place the new MB's V8 6.3 litre engine at the top followed by BMW's V10 and then Audi's V10.

Audi's design,luxury...etc great but the best engines Award goes to the BMW and MB.(Recollect all that I6's of BMWs and AMG's of the MB)

Now plz Don't tell me about that 2.0 litre engines or the FSIs or TFSIs,i am talking about the bigg monster engines.

I keep seeing these test mules and claims that they are the latest models. IF the test mules have so much extra cladding and covers on them which prevent you from seeing the styling than why bother showing an ugly picture? what is the point?

In addition, many times, the test mules are disguised with older model sheet metal, such as with the Skyline test mule based on the G35.

Production models can change drastically. Showing these pictures and commenting on them is really a waste of time.

I am a loyal Mercedes owner, but I will be the first to tell you that Audi is probably only about a generation and one-half behind Mercedes. The next A8 will not look like the currect model, as Audi will not make the same mistake as Jag did on the XJ. Styling is an area where Audi will continue to break new ground, both interior and exterior. Now that the Phaeton has faded away, VW has all the more reason to make the A8 a real player with MB and BMW. Somewhere between the Flying Spur and the current A8L is where Audi needs to aim. The market is there for their taking !
