VIDEO: BMW M3 Competition Pack Vs. Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG P31 Pack
Ah, I love the smell of Mercedes-Benz's AMG versus BMW's M GmbH in the morning. It's like the New York Giants versus the Philadelphia Eagles, there will always be a heightened tension when these two come together to do battle.
With the 2011 BMW M3's Competition Package going toe-to-toe with Mercedes-Benz's C63 AMG P31 Performance Package, there are two different trains of thought being put to work. AMG went with a classic approach and Clarkson-esque way about things by just adding a dollop of POWER, while BMW decided to sharpen up the M3's already outstanding handling.
But, which one takes the crown as Tiff Needle and Jason Plato of Fifth Gear push both cars to their limits.

Cool video!
Always thought that Fifth Gear was the better British car show, Jeremy is the better entertainer. I was surprised that Speed only picked up the show for one or two seasons way back when.

Well said, I've always thought that the two shows together were a knockout punch because they covered a lot of perspectives

What this video does for me is make it harder for me to let go of naturally aspirated engines.

Sad but true! You know the end of large, naturally aspirated engine is near when even the "mighty" Ferrari utters the word: hybrid.

or even when BMW has been naturally aspirated for years now and until recently started using turbos......Come on....and hybrid sports cars are going to be the future they deliver tremendous power and you save on gas at the same time.

I don't doubt that Gas/Electric Hybrid sports cars will have place in the global market, but the Tesla proves that this intermediate stage can be skipped. The only reason to go with a Gas/Electric Powertrain is to try to either cut back on emissions or to try to beat the gas guzzler tax. I don't see V-12's, V-10's and high strung V-8's making over 20 mpg. (I could be very wrong)
Let's be honest, if you can afford a Ferrari(or insert your brand here), you either don't care about a hybrid powertrain or you would not even consider buying a Ferrari in the first place.
