2011 Chrysler 200 Sedan: first details and photos released
After few teasers, Chrysler Group LLC released today the first photos and details of the new 2011 Chrysler 200 mid-sized sedan.

As you can see, the new car features the new Chrysler brand winged badge, a completely new front fascia, new fenders, hood, exterior mirrors, new projector headlamps and fog lamps, a new rear fascia, new LED taillamps and a LED center high-mounted stop light. Under the hood we find the 2.4-liter I-4 World Gas Engine as standard, and mated to either a four-speed or six-speed automatic transmission.

It looks good... but 4 speed transmission?

I swear I submitted this hours ago. Anywho, nice re-fresh. Guess we werent suppose to be too suprised. I just hope the driving dynamics improved since that was more of a problem than the look of the Sebring. This is suppose to carry us over until the 2013 "All new" 200 gets here (from what Ive heard).

Sum up: MILES better than what it replaces (going off of looks alone).

I'm still bored. With all those sexy angles and whatnot I still have no clue what the car looks like. The photography is poor. Whatever happened to a profile shot? Or a front quarter shot? You know...angles that actually show you the car.

Personally, I'm not to impressed with the overall design and I think it was a waste of money and resources for Chrysler to revamp the aging Sebring, especially since the all new 200 model is coming in 2013/2014 anyway.

I'm in awe of the lack of Chrysler's ability to learn from their failures of past. What is this thing? Style is subjective..sure, but someone tell me that the featured picture doesn't look like a Chrysler Town and Country. Looks like they're sticking to their erroneous methodologies yet again:

1) Build a flashy car with lots of bling and attitude around low grade parts and components.
2) Command a high price due to Chrysler's (faded) glory days of past.
3) Watch as inventory piles up, scratch head, then begin blame game followed by massive incentive offering.
4) Ignore problem, claim to have righted the astray ship and repeat cycle with newfound money.

Chrysler needs to get it together and they have the resources/talent to do it. We need and American car company that we can be proud of, one that has substance and not just the pomp. George Washington barreling down on an English soldier in a Challenger is a far cry from hitting the target.

Yes, I realize that was a Dodge commercial, but I feel same is true for all the Chrysler family lines of cars. I must say I had the new Jeep Cherokee as a rental car and I'm very impressed, they need to make more cars like that.
