Lexus Working On LC600h To Replace Defunct SC430
Lexus is said to be hard at work on a new model tentatively called the LC600h, slated to be the replacement for the recently discontinued SC 430.

The LC will reportedly employ a shortened version of the next-generation LS platform as well as an updated version of the 5.0-liter V-8 hybrid system from the LS600h L, and all-wheel drive.

There is, but very subtle. It's impossible for Lexus to do the weird kink of Essence for sure. Overall design in the rendering is not very cohesive, more like a montage.

I think Lexus has spent a little too much time looking at BMW's sheetmetal for inspiration.

Wait are you implying that Lexus would ever steal design elements from another auto maker.

Not sure of the specifics of the rendering, but a well executed GT/Aston clone would serve Lexus well.

Uh, "Lexus" can't work a new car as they don't build cars. And Toyota benchmarked the out-of-production BMW E63 645Ci/650Ci Coupe & E64 645i/650i Cabriolet for the upcoming replacment for the SC model. And one would hope they don't use an upside bathtub for the design inspiration like the last one. Good luck Toyota!

At higher end everybody tries to benchmark Mercedes. In this case, SL, not 6 series.

Why do they insist on changing names all the time if this thing is a replacement for the SC. They should call it "SC" - like the 1st and 2nd generation were called.

This is NOT an SC replacement. This is in ADDITION to the SC replacement. 009 should get the facts straight.

This car's styling needs are work over!

The front looks like a IS/GS hybrid(logical since these are Toyota's sportiest models = kinda sad)

Overall shape, FMD, looks to be heavily inspired by the McLaren MB SLR.

Side quater panels look lifted from the LFA with an updated SC430 rear.

@ Inline6

I understand your argument completely, and for Toyota's sake, I hope you are correct. At the same time, people paid close to $150k for the Ford GT which was made produced from a lot of parts directly from Ford's parts bin: engine, steering column, style of original GT40. Hell you could even say that the LFA is the spiritual successor to the late Supra Turbo, in styling.

If you look at the size and dimensions of the the last gen SC430, it was not really a competitor with the R230 SL in style or performance. Toyota has changed the mission for the upcoming car and they already benchmarked the E63 & E64 6 Series as this car for performance, size, etc. They are pretty far along in develpment for the car.

It's beautiful, but it better be JUST like this, WITH these fat tires too.

This is funky...I mean, how many pieces are needed for the front fender?

Lexus needs a sports coupe, one that doesn't cost as much as a house. I say bring it on buy do it right we don't need another cloud car like the last SC.
