SPIED: BMW's 2012 6-Series Convertible Gets EXPOSED
Although there were claims that the photo was not legitimate, BMW insider and forum user "Scott26" has confirmed this is a spy photograph of a next-generation 6-Series convertible while at a photo shoot for its accessories catalog.

**To be more specific, the photo we used as our cover shot is a slight Photoshop of the original because there was a guy in the way. To see the original, click "Read Article."

Even though 00R has been skeptical if the 6'er would live up to Jim O'Donnell's claim that it would be one of the best-looking BMWs in some time, he's starting to believe it after this image.

Do you agree, Spies?

This 6-series convertible image has been posted without much fanfare on Autobild. It appears to be a leak of the upcoming production 2012 6-series convertible (now confirmed) as we don't recall seeing a similar image upon which the render could be based, except for the "original" photo upon which it is based (also posted below). This car appears to be an 650i cabrio (with style 356 wheels), which will begin production in March 2011. The F13 6-series will come with a traditional cloth roof...

Huge, yes. Bloated and bland, no.

On a side note: I posted submitted this two days ago along with a spy shot article of the next A6. I guess since it was from a "competitors site" (which will remain un-named so THIS comment doesnt disappear), it never made news on this site. Guess I will sit back and comment from now on... *shrugs shoulders*

I think it looks great, very fitting for a flagship drop top. Beautiful lines, well done BMW.

I don't think it is too big. I think it's just big enough to be a flagship coupe/convertible for BMW. the old 6 is too small. the backseats are tiny compare to those in the 3 coupe. leave the compact sporty models to the 1 and 3 series. Let the 6 be the big comfortable GT sport car, which could compete with CL.
