STUD or DUD: Is The Maybach Coupe Better Than The Sedan?
If a Maybach sedan was just too much for you, someone has a fix for you: they've created a Maybach coupe.
We're not sure why since the original Maybach wasn't exactly a sales success. It may of had to do with the ridiculous price tag or the fact it was just too subtle for its own good. An S-Class lookalike just doesn't have enough panache to justify paying more than double the cost of an S600.
But it DID have some really cool recliners in the back...
Still, with that said
do you find the Maybach coupe more enticing or just more of the same ol', same ol'?

I dont think it looks like a cl it has similarities if thats what your trying to say. I think it looks better than the sedan. This is month OLD news anyway. This will probably be the biggest coupe ever made in the world this thing LOOKS huge but i guess i have to wait for the real deal to see.

I think it looks great. Looking like a CL should be a compliment. This Maybach Coupe looks like a shiny star in the ultra luxury world. Wish i could get my hand on this comfy ship.

Very late to the game...still looks too much like the Benz in which it's based on...which is lame.
M-B still hasn't figured it out. As long as they continue to offer up thinly-disquised S-classes as Maybachs, the concepts just won't work in reality. They need to put real funding into making dedicated Maybach exteriors (using modified S & E-class platforms) in the same fashion BMW is doing with Rolls-Royce.

im not so impressed with the front of the car--mainly the front headlamps. The design didnt look good on either sedan when they were introduced, and I certainly dont think they do anything for this otherwise beautiful coupe.

This just highlights to me that I don't "get" coupes.

For some reason, this car does not say "Rich Guy's Car" to me like RR or Bentley does. I know it's procey as hell. Perhaps it lacks the heritage? Or brand recognition? Or design language?

Its a good looking car better than the sedan it just looks dated and not in a Bentley Brooklands timeless classic kind of way but simply past its prime it looks a bit 90s and in reality looks alot like the late 90s Mercedes CL which was a good looking car but comeon that was how many years ago

It looks good but they are very late to the game. This is a two week old story too. This car should have come out about 3 years ago.
