Production version of Ford Start Concept coming
Ford Motor Co. is working on a production version of the Start, whose concept was introduced at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year, according to an autocar report. The production version is believed to be priced at about $13,000 and to enter the market in 2014.

When the Ford Start concept was presented at the Beijing show, speculations arose that Ford was developing a revolutionary successor for the Ka supermini. Ford actually unveiled two new products: the concept and its engine. Ford had presented the smallest version of an Ecoboost engine, the unit has a displacement of 1.0 liters and uses three cylinders.

That's kinda of a cool looking little car. Now how much *not* like it will the production vehicle be?

I would say the ehadlamps are the first to go because they look complicated and expensive and may very well not meet European or American safety standards. I would also say don't get attached to the roofline. That looks like a tough job for a press to accomplish on the production line. Of course those side mirrors would give the typical driver hell to see out of. Letterbox may be cool on DVD but not in a rear-view mirror. The interios looks doable, but the seats may be a no show.

Isn't this the new Ford Ka? Looks like the same proportions as it's sister the Fiat 500.

In keeping with the tradition of naming their cars starting with the letter "F" will Ford rename it the Fart?
