2011 Vw Passat and Passat Variant: full details revealed

Volkswagen has just released the full details plus a new set of images of the saloon and estate versions of the seventh generation Passat. The next generation Passat, which recently debuted at the Paris Motor Show, will have front-wheel-drive as standard. Meanwhile, the 4MOTION, the all-wheel-drive version, is offered as an option. The engine choices include three diesels and three petrols, and a 150 PS plant that can run on natural gas (EcoFuel).

Like the new Jetta front end is very boring especially headlights. Read it in a magazine that just like new Jetta, new Passat will be cheaper than before to be a more proper alternative to it's main rivals(Camry, Sonata).

Probably not in Europe but the US version i would expect to have that cheaper beam rear axle like the Jetta.Wonder if VW will use that base 2.0 to keep the price below 20 grand on the base model.That would be a "real" powerhouse. I'm sure it will be quicker then a Smart Car.

Don't try to out Honda Honda or copy the Camry. Be unique, bring a different set of qualities to the table that VW knows about...
