Toyota To Inspect Almost 11,000 Vehicles For Defective Accessory Belts
Toyota Motor Corp in the United States has told its dealers to fix some 2010 Corolla and Matrix models because an accessory engine belt may deteriorate and detach, according to a notice to dealers.

About 10,750 vehicles may be affected by the "limited service campaign." There are about 9,400 Corollas that could have the accessory belt issue, and 1,350 Matrix vehicles.

Well this confirms it. Not about toyota, but about autospies.

Two weeks ago, a recall was issued for Mercedes 2010/11 E and C class sedans for steering issues. Was there an article about this on autospies? NO. That affected 80 thousand vehicles.

Now this 11 thousand accessory belt inspection gets the attention.

Yeah, I think we all noticed the absence of that story and also the GM recall too which was 300k I think? This is why autospies has seen a large decline in visitors. Less and less credibility.

I enjoy the picture of the SEMA version of the 2009 Toyota Matrix XRS. Unfortunately the brains at Toyota instead gave the 2.4L its standard 164hp (16 less than the outgoing XRS model with only 1.8L). Too bad they lost their balls.

However I can say my Matrix is still safe and worth the most compared to these others involved in recalls. A 2005 XR AWD, no recalls, no safety bulletins, nada.
