Since it is that time of year again, there will be plenty of shoppers hitting up car lots looking for great deals. But since it is fall, a ton of buyers will be presented with the common problem: 2010 vs. 2011?

There's plenty of reasons to choose one or the other, it's just a matter of getting your ducks in a row and figuring them out.

Dealership lots are now well stocked with 2011 models, though there are some leftover 2010 models still available. Many dealerships have all-new models crowding showrooms, while vehicles that saw their generation end with 2010 may be lurking outside. Car shoppers are faced with the age-old dilemmas: Should I buy the new model year? And should I go for an all-new, redesigned car?

Depends on if you want the deal or the fixes. If 2011 brings a significant redesign, you'll save good money on a 2010.

I would at least check out the closest reputable autoshow, take a test drive, or if you are serious about buying, rent a comparable model.

P.s.
2011 models are probably going to have some marketing dollars from the manufacturer. Use this to your advantage when you negotiate the final price.

Negotiate from the Invoice up or down, depending on the model & incentives!
If you negotiate from the MSRP you have already lost! - exotics excluded
