Saab's have always been a bit eccentric and fun, but I don't see this car stealing a lot of customers from BMW or MB. It's nice, but it matches up almost exactly with the competition.

With Saab's experience using turbo fours & sixes, I expected better fuel economy since they're using smaller engines. The competition, BMW 535, gets better gas mileage with, arguably, more power. Plus, the BMW comes with the warranty for 4years/40k miles.

Does GM still own Saab? Seems like its hard for SAAB to shake off the GM stink.

Saab has a deal with GM for a few yrs and model cycles to be able to use the GM parts bin. The 9-4 was probably already developed (like the 9-5)by the time the deal was finalized with Spyker. The new 9-3,however,
should have more Swedish input as well as succeeding cars after.
