SPIED: NEW Images Of BMW's 1M Prototypes
A man of few words, Scott26, went on the 1Addicts forum recently and posted up some never-before-seen images of the forthcoming BMW 1M.

Although details still remain unclear, from what 00R gathers, this could be the most pure M GmbH product in several years. At least that's what he's hoping for.

But more importantly, onto the images.

After you click "Read Article," you'll come across a handful of pictures of the 1M. Although I think only two are really interesting.

The first is the conveniently cropped shot of the gauges, which show a tachometer with an undisclosed redline. Although it's clearly below 8,000, will it hit the 7,500 mark? Who knows at this point.

However, the second picture that shows the cloth seats is intriguing. That's because those appear to just be some standard 1-Series seats. Could it just be a prototype thing or is it more indicative of the future?

Regardless, we'll know soon enough.

An Indepth look.

These instruments are ugly. I can suggest for bimmer designers to select from these:

Why is a 3-series and 5-series M model versions called M3 and M5 respectively and a 1-series called 1M rather than M1?

If the M is be for the number its a true M vehicle. If the M is after the number like X5m, 1m, or z4m its still an M, but a lesser M. The M3, M5 and M6 are the benchmark, traditional M's. If that makes any sense.

Same ol' tired gauges from 10 years ago. Lexus IS gauges look nicer. And I'm not being sarcastic.

The only gauges that are impressive that Lexus offers are the ones in the LF-A. Other than that vehicle, Lexus doesnt offer anything worth "oooing and aaahhing" over...
